    I have iolo system mechanic installed on my laptop. I really want to know how to stop it from defraging and compacting my registry when I turn on my computer. How do I do that?

    I don't have that software, but a quick bit of Googling yields a likely fix:

    Start/Run/msconfig/Startup/SMSystemAnalyzer.exe -> disable

    If you're able, I'd seriously consider uninstalling System Mechanic. I haven't heard anything good about it and wouldn't let it near any PC of mine.

    Closed until Annioinen requests otherwise.
