Hello, everybody!
I wonder if you are allied with some faction, can you plan any joint actions against a third party (like a simultaneous attack on someone) or is it impossible?
It isn't possible to coordinate with the AI, but the AI may join you if you invade an enemy province. In such cases it's wise to see what kind of force the ally has brought along. If they have deployed a larger force then yours - they will win the province. If it's a smaller force you should win it - but you need to ensure that the ally does their share of the fighting. It's not good when your units do most of the fighting and dying and the AI ally wins the province.
You can also relieve sieges. If your ally is besieged by an enemy, you can invade that province to relieve the siege. This improves your king's influence as well.
You can use it for your own good. You can attack with smaller force than your ally and let him do most of the fighting. If your forces after the battle will be greater that your ally, you will get the province. I like to keep my enemies and allies low in numbers because even your ally will become your enemy sooner or later.
Gilrandir If you and your ally are in war with the other faction and your ally has a possibility of sending an army (he can attack the same province), he will very likely do this. Of course it depends of your king's influence, happiness in the province when the army stays, etc. If your ally is neutral to your enemy don't count on him.

Thanks, I got it, though what I meant was concerted actions NOT in one province. It could be much easier if, for example, playing the Turks I attacked Byzantine's Anatolia, and the Hungarians, being my ally could smite in the rear invading Bulgaria. But I assume that is not possible.
just pay close attention to the territories close to your ally, if you notice he is attacking someone attack that same faction somewhere else. but this is mostly reactionary.
Isn't there some cheat code that lets you change factions? In theory I guess you could change to your ally's faction, make them do what you want, and switch back to your own faction. I'm not talking from experience, though.
In those simple times there was a great wonder and mystery in life. Man walked in fear and solemnity, with Heaven very close above his head, and Hell below his very feet. God's visible hand was everywhere, in the rainbow and the comet, in the thunder and the wind. The Devil too raged openly upon the earth; he skulked behind the hedge-rows in the gloaming; he laughed loudly in the night-time; he clawed the dying sinner, pounced on the unbaptized babe, and twisted the limbs of the epileptic. A foul fiend slunk ever by a man's side and whispered villainies in his ear, while above him there hovered an angel of grace . . .

You could use the -ian switch to do this, but you can only control the actions of 1 faction for any given turn.
