    Default Faction reappearence chances

    Hello!
I wonder is there any pattern in factions' reemergence? I mean can you know for sure that a destroyed faction will return (except the papists, of course)? I understand that if at least one rebel province of what used to be a faction is left than the resurrection is almost certain. But if not? Sometimes a faction reappears inside another one (or yours), other times after being destroyed it never shows up. I have an idea that if it was you who dealt the faction the lethal blow, it is likely to reemerge. But if you were just informed that somewhere out there a faction stopped existing and its territory was conquered then the chances for reappearance are not so high. Am I right in my guessing? And what about the time the faction takes to return? Is there any number of years of non-existence after which you can say: "This one will never trouble us any more"?

The faction can reappear until it has a heir e.g If you destroy faction with newly born heir, the faction can reappear for the next 60-70 years. I'm not sure if loyalists (in case of low province loyalty) can reestablish the faction without any living heirs.

    Two conditions:

    1) The faction had at least one underage heir at the time it was wiped out and that heir has since come of age (turned 16 years old).
    2) Loyalty drops below 120% in any of the faction's former provinces (low enough for a typical loyalist revolt).

How can you know that a faction has underage heirs since they are not listed anywhere? Or are they?

There's still a chance of reappearance even after the underage heir died. Typically after 100 years, if the faction did not reappear, it's considered to be gone forever.
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Hi

You'd have to do some 'detective' work using the applicable F key (to switch faction - with the -ian switch) in the run up to the final extinction, I guess.
