I have some questions about single player if anyone can help

In the Way of Chi the Sumo Tournament states that in consumes food 1. Does that mean if there is a food shortage that it is going to reduce the food further? I usually have quite a few rebellions due to food shortage.

When an army has some depleted units is the replenishment rate contingent on the facility that is closest to it?
Example If that army is in a province with a spear dojo and there is a sword dojo three provinces away will the yari units replenish faster then the sword units?

I'm also having a problem still with Christianity. I've noticed that when I've taken over a province I will put a monk or two in it. Christianity will go on the decline, an as soon as I pull out the monks Christianity goes back up. I don't have one of those trading ports which will causes an increase in Christianity, so I'm stumped on that one.

    Thanks

The way I understand it is this: It's the same as building a castle upgrade. It will contribute -1 to your overall food. If you have 0, it'll take you to -1 overall, and so on. Upgrading your farms is the best way to ensure you always have enough food.

Churches and certain buildings will provide a conversion rate to Christianity as well. It's also possible neighboring provinces are also contributing. Mouse over the religious icons in the upper left of the settlement tab to see the various conversion factors at work.

Fort upgrades cost food. Markets above the first one cost food.

The general rule seems to be to build as little as possible above the base level to keep food in surplus.
Surplus food contributes to the "growth" of every city you possess; that growth gives you gold.

"But we need castles!" "They're bigger and better!" Just not many of them; early game one upgraded castle might be all you need.

Farm upgrades give you gold and food; one of the best upgrades for your economy.

For religion, buildings and agents convert regions. I think monks/missionaries are 0.5 bonus /star; the building bonuses can be found by mousing over them. In the castle display there is a box showing the relative str of each religion; if you mouse over the arrows it will show the influence of each factor. Check the buildings: if their is a competing religious building => destroy it. If you can build one of your own temples it will help. Nanban ports boost conversion to Christianity by 3.5...but their economic benefits might make this tolerable.

Replenishment I understand not at all :p Roads and encampments help, but there seems to be more to it than this :) gl

Regarding replenishment, there is a list of contributing factors here compiled by Dogthinker:

    http://forums.totalwar.com/showthrea...l=1#post127418

Here is a list of sources I've encountered to date:

    Castle: 0%, 5%, 8%, 12%, 25% dependent on castle type
    Roads: 0%, 2%, 5%, 10% dependent on road type
Encampment: 10% for all types except Barracks, which gives 20%
    Heaven and Earth: 5%
Commissioner of Supply: 1% to 6%, equal to the appointed general's level
Inspirational skill: 0%, 5%, 10% bonus to the whole province dependent on the skill level. I don't think multiple generals can stack this bonus, but my other general with this skill died recently, and since I play legendary I can't go back to verify this again.
Surgeon retainer: 5% to units under the general's command.

Assuming generals can't stack their bonuses, the maximum would therefore be +81% (!) in the form of: 25% (Citadel) + 10% (Imperial Roads and Towers) + 20% (Barracks) + 5% (Heaven and Earth) + 6% (Level 6 Commissioner of Supply) + 10% (1 Inspirational 3 General) + 5% (Surgeon)

Ok I have been playing Shogun2 since the day it came out. I am playing my way thru each clan. I am currently on my 9th campaign and totally stumped. Starting today, my game is crashing after 1 turn in the current campaign. I am playing on hard-played the 1st 3 on lowest setting, then 3 one step up, now running thru some on hard. Anyone have some suggestions? I love the game, I have every TW game made and play them all extensively but this crashing is driving me nuts. No other TW game: Empire, Rome, Medieval2, Napoleon, etc is crashing just Shogun2. I do not wanna stop playing but unless I get this fixed, I will be forced to. Will appreciate any help-btw I am basically computer illiterate lol I am an out of work school history teacher with lots of free time.

Hey Dblowe, welcome to the Org!

Perhaps something with your installation has been corrupted? Right click on the game in your library and go to properties. Verify the integrity of the cache. If something is wrong or corrupted, steam will download replacement files for you after the scan is done.
