Recent appearence of freezing sends gaming below zero

Hello!

I have been thoroughly enjoying th game since its day of release, however this enjoyment has been stalled recently (the past three days) by the sudden occurance of a freeze which occurs at the first loading screen after I begin running the game. My entire computer just freezes and I am forced to restart the damn thing manualy

I have found numerous explanations of this, but none seem to fix it, however I have just realised that the freezing commenced the same day I installed Dragon Age 2, would that be the problem?

Try verifying the integrity of the game cache in steam. Could take as long as an hour.
