There was a time when like any nerd I was mesmerized by fencing.....I tried to find an instructor...but living as I am in a third world country, the best I found were manufacturers of barbed wire.
Anyway...someday, I'll learn it...and eat as many burgers as I want.

Till then, a question, how many people here have actually tried learning....I read up on the topic...Internet is good...and fencing always seemed, well, easy...so has anyone here actually tried the sport? Experiences?

It is called Babble. It is the ancient language spoken before languages were split at the Tower of Babel, and its meaning is so deep and profound that I doubt your human brain could grasp it.

Ahh. My brain seems to be grasping that you are spamming then. Is that so?

Hello.
I enjoy fencing. It keeps animals in an area.

Well...spamming is a pretty strong word. I would say "Posting without relevance" or "Failure to deliver meaning" :D
Riiiight. So I guess it's not just third world countries where fencing means using barbed wire to secure the cows..... :P

Usually bigger cities tend to offer fencing (or some sort of martial art involving swordplay), I've never seen anyone offer classes in smaller towns.
i´ll watch if they change it to involve Japanese swords and decapitations of the loser of course.

I fenced throughout high school. It was very fun and quite a challenge in coordination and endurance (it is funny to see how sloppy people get as a large tournament progresses). The electronic épées have taken a lot of the subjective nature out of the sport and the need for a third party judge for practicing, as well.
just read some ancient scripts and scrolls that contains martial arts and practice it on banana trees with your machette!
I also live in third world country that fencing means barbed wire to keep goats.

Some big city highschools & some colleges have fencing programs, but none I've ever attended.
I know many people who do it, and I can quiz them on your behalf when I get back to university in a few weeks.
