Thread: If in a comp game your ally backstabs you?

    Hi guys,

Yesterday night I had a doubt regarding allies in a competitive game.

Let's say that Player 1, Player 2 and Player 3 are allies in a competitive game.

Now during the battle player 1 attacks player 2. Player 2 wins.

    Now the questions:

    1) What is the stance of player 3 then?
    2) Who gets the win and honour points when the battle finishes?
    3) What happens to player 2 if he lost to player 1?

    Thanks

    Terazawa

Actually l find my self during games with lot of lag during battle times when l order my men to attack the mouse tend to point elsewhere leading u to click on you ally who is fighting your enemy thus the pop-up window appears. It never happent to press yes but someone might do it from the lag.

Not 100% sure but here is what should happen.

    1. player 3 is a joint winner with 2, assuming all the enemy troops are beaten.

    2. players 2 and 3 get the honour points (after the AI works out the combined honour of the other 4 players and your 2 combined honours and then does the number crunching).

    3. if would depend upon player3, he would need to beat player 1 and the other enemy troops. If he did that then he and player 2 (his ally) would be the winners.

I saw this happen in a 3v3 battle, one of the strong enemy players accidently attacked one of his allies (rushed his clicking in the heat of a big battle) and then withdrew all his troops so his two former allies could win the game by beating the other 3 enemy players. At that stage they had already broken our troops and were going to win no matter what.

Shuko, your idea is very good but yesterday I just tested it with my fun name!

I was in a 3v3 and as the example, Player 1, 2 and 3 are allies. Player 2 attacked Player 1 and Player 3. Player 2 lost it.

Player 1 and Player 2 also won against the 3 other enemies.

When I went to check the player's records, even player 2 had an increase in honour!

Now thats complicated, but that's it!

When a ally turns traitor, their potential for advancement is tied to their former allies fortunes. The traitor will not benefit from helping the other side win. This can be evidenced by the fact that when you are watching someone turn against their allies, they will still show up as a enemy to you.

I have seen this sad occurance at least 3 times. I have also seen the accidental attacker on a ally a couple of times.

You need to edit the middle bit to read : Player 1 and Player 3...............

hm, I believe you but it should not end up like that, it needs fixing.

by "fixing up" I mean that Player 2 should not get any honour points from this type of win as he/she made an error(intentional or not) and tried to undermine the win.

There are cases where this is done on purpose so the three enemy players are almost guaranteed a win and their friend who turned on the other two allies uses a second name etc, so it doesn't matter to the turncoat. The three enemy players can't win enough games playing 1v1 comp, they can all go up the ladder in relative safety by cheating like this.

The problem is just annoying or amusing if it happens in friendly games.

and that brings us back to an earlier thread about limiting online names allowed. that's another good reason for it.
