Default The Official Royal Wedding Watch Thread 2011

William & Kate are getting married

I wonder how the rest of the royal family feels about ol Willie marrying a muggle

Struggles over the guest list abound

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-13047570

I feel so bad for them
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Unless someone bombs the place, I don't care about it.

My only concern was when they got engaged and they said they'd have an April wedding. I didn't want them to get married on TinCow and my anniversary (which is today, btw ).

speaking as a monarchist; i have no intention of watching the wedding, or buying any royal tat.

i don't disapprove of it, i merely remain uninterested.

You're absolutely right, that would be a senseless and evil act of violence.

As for me, it is messing with my business plans in London but otherwise I am not overly flustered.

It's going to be on a FRIDAY! I so excited, I'm gonna be partying partying, having FUN FUN FUN!!!

I'm not really into the history of it all, I just want to see all the different dresses. Gotta love the fashion, plus I really want to see who they will invite.

This is the biggest piece of news since Katy Price did something!

We did that over a hundred years before the French did. The king took fright when he saw the size of the executioners chopper!

Then his son came back afew years later to open arms. It seems that England is unique in that it actually does worse without a monarchy.

I would hardly say we are unique in that. France and Germany both come to mind.

Bah, they've tried a whacko monarchy and a whacko dictator. A true democracy where all men are equal? Nope, haven't tried that. But their offspring, the US, has, however. And they surpassed the UK years ago.

And it isn't very surprising that the free democracy beats the backwards monarchy in every area.

People have so many prejudices these days....

Edit: while doing a royal might be difficult, now you can at least have royal protection while you do a commoner!

Why do you think I railed against Tony Blair and Gordon Brown? Total wits the pair of them.

Seriously though, I'm not a great fan of the monarchy but the system has stood the test of time. The UK has been one of the most stable countries in the world for a couple of centuries. In any case President Blair/Brown/Cast Iron Dave........oh the horror.

You've had decades of civil war in Northern Irland.

The German Republic absorbed a ruthless communist dictatorship that was over half the size of the previous area without any violence at all.

The reoublic wins yet again. Also, why on earth shiuld the executive get more power if you went republican? Why shouldn't the legislative gain that power?

lol, that is so far removed from QEII in accuracy that it is best described as a measure of light-years.

Maj' has worked far harder and far longer than you, I, or anyone else on this forum EVER will in all likelyhood.
