Crazed Rabbit was standing by a street lamp, itching for a fight. His brass knuckles shone in the darkness. He obviously wasn't looking to fight fair.

Nor were his assailants, who approached from both ends of the street.

By the time Crazed Rabbit noticed them, they were almost on top of him. But the man in the fedora would not go down without a fight. He saw the golden luger gleaming in the shadows, and dove behind a nearby vehicle. He was not quite fast enough, as he felt a bullet strike him in the shoulder. Certain he could pull through, he scurried around to the other side of the vehicle to avoid the hail of golden bullets.

Just then, he heard the dreadful sound of a chainsaw roaring to life. A masked figure was just behind him, about to saw him to pieces! Thinking quickly, the Crazed Rabbit tossed his fedora at the chainsaw figure's face, and jumped to the side to avoid a lethal-looking swing. He balled up his fist and punched the crazed killer in the face, and the maniac went down.

He felt the sting of another golden bullet impact him in the back, and he felt fear... this was really it. The bullet wound was bleeding quite profusely, and there was going to be no surviving this time. He went mad, and charged toward his attacker, determined to slay whoever it was. He felt the impact of more bullets in the stomach and shoulder, and he nearly fell to the ground... but out of pure rage, he continued onward, and punched his attacker in the face. The figure with the golden luger went down.

Crazed Rabbit dropped to his knees from the pain. There was no more fight left in him. When he heard the sound of the chainsaw buzzing through his neck, he gave no further resistance.

dcmort93 was still a bit shaken up from earlier events. He seemed to be paranoid, in fact... as he wiped the blood from his busted lip, he thought he heard the sounds of breathing.... or snorting.... or something.

Then he saw the creature, as it lunged from the darkness. Its golden eyes gleamed. dcmort raised his weapon, but it was already too late. Whatever it was wasted no time tearing dcmort limb from limb, and leaving his corpse in tattered pieces in the middle of the street.

Red_Spy could sense her attacker approaching. And she knew this was coming. The Plagas Queen prepared her deadly tentacles and began to transform.....

The masked figure held a ceremonial knife, and brazenly attacked the huge, hideous beast without fear, stabbing her in the heart.

The Plagas queen was mortally wounded, and it seemed all the fight had gone out of her. Her tentacles began to disintegrate, and her cruel, twisted face melted away to reveal....

A slender, heartbroken young woman. She provided absolutely no resistance as the masked figure stabbed her in the heart once more, ending her life.

Kagemusha suspected an attack, and raised a magical shield around himself. From the shadows, a lean, powerful figure brandishing a pair of long medieval swords attacked. The swords could not penetrate the magical shield.

The figure bared its fangs and hissed cruelly, and Kagemusha looked on the creature, and could tell that this was no ordinary figure. It was something supernatural.

The wounded figure spread its massive, black wings, and escaped back into the darkness. The stench permeated the air long afterward.

The tall, powerful figure suspected he would be attacked again, and was prepared. He prepared to defend himself, but noticed that the magic he would summon wasn't working.

Within moments, the vulnerability of the powerful figure became apparent, and from the shadows came a figure with one wing, and a green eye. Just before the tall figure was cleaved in two by a gigantic, slender sword, it disappeared in a bright blue flash.

In his place, there stood another figure, who seemed very lost and confused.

The green-eyed assailant swung the giant slender blade, and it made contact.... with a magical shield of some kind.

Zapp Brannigan: "Aha, foul evildoer, it seems your primitive weapons are no match for standard force-field technology. It seems I've outsmarted you by activating my personal shield without even remembering to do so. As a matter of fact, I don't recall ever owning a personal shield generator. But somehow, I've won, due to my superior manly awesomeness."

The green-eyed figure looked at the shielded Brannigan with pure, unfiltered rage. The figure stood back, and unleashed a powerful spell....

Brannigan and the miraculous shield around him were lifted high into the hellish sky, where the heavens themselves began to swirl around the spherical form. They were drawn in my awesome, terrifying power, until Brannigan and his shield were encased in a cloud or burning, superheated gas. In an instant, there was a massive burst of power, as the gasses ignited in a fusion reaction. The shield began to buckle, as the material in the sky collapsed in on the shield, shattering it, and causing the heavens to erupt in a massive SUPERNOVA.

The one-winged angel flew toward the prone Brannigan, and delivered a devastating combination of slashes with its gigantic blade, dicing the foolish one to tiny pieces.

The angelic figure stayed aloft in the sky, as bloody fragments of Warman rained down from the heavens.

The survivors approached the center of the city. Smoke and ash filled the sky... it was difficult to tell day from night. A swirling vortex appeared above the tallest building still standing in the center of town, as if enormous power was being generated from that location.

Smoldering, molten rock flowed through the sewers of the city. Pavement began to split and sink into the burning depths. There wasn't much time left.

As usual, they began accusing one another. Again, Fire Brother made a case that one of them was a traitor, and without much discussion, they surrounded the figure, confronting God Emperor.

God Emperor: "What seems to be the trouble, my friends?"

Backwards Logic: "You.... you're not one of us. You're a demon!"

God Emperor: "Of course I'm a demon. Just look at me."

God Emperor: "Do you mean to tell me you weren't aware that I was a demon this entire time?"

Backwards Logic: "But you're not just any demon. And you aren't Lucifuge, the fleer of light. You're actually the Demonic Necromancer, Reenkis Roinkis! Don't even deny that you're a master of bringing souls back from the dead, using twisted, black magic!"

God Emperor: "I dabble."

Backwards Logic: "You're the one who brought the Crazed Rabbit gangster back from the dead."

God Emperor: "What of it, feeble mortal?"

Backwards Logic: "You're not just evil, you're trying to destroy us all!"

God Emperor: "Oh, if I wanted to destroy you all, you wouldn't be standing here talking about it. It would already be done. You have no idea the kind of power I possess."

Backwards Logic: "Enlighten me."

God Emperor: "I am the master of life and death. I have survived countless deaths, and will survive countless more. I bring spirits back from the dead, and turn insolent mortals into ashes for my own amusement. I can make and destroy every one of you just by wiggling my index finger. Death is only the beginning.... suffering is eternal."

With that, the Demonic Necromancer summoned black magic orbs and began firing them at the gathered group. The survivors took cover as best they could, but several of the creatures that got caught in the blasts were incinerated instantly.

God Emperor cackled with insane glee as he summoned forth undead zombies, the bodies of the fallen, which began chasing down the survivors and trying to eat their delicious brains.

Many of them fought back, wielding chainsaws, and swords, and firearms of all sorts. But the army of the undead continued to come in waves.... and from the outskirts of the city, on the edges of Hell itself, the bodies of the damned came forth, with burning, twisted flesh.... there were millions of them.... there was no escape.

God Emperor: "NOW SUFFER AND DIE, ALL WHO OPPOSE MY RULE!!! I AM THE GREATEST MASTER OF MAGIC IN ALL OF EXISTENCE!!! NONE HAVE THE POWER TO OPPOSE MY ASCENSION TO THE THRONE OF ALL-GOD!!! TREMBLE BEFORE MY POWER!!!"

As the army of darkness closed in on the huddled survivors, several of the creatures summoned forth protective magic, encasing the group in a shimmering blue shield.

God Emperor: "YOU CANNOT STOP ME!!! I WILL SIMPLY DISPEL YOUR SHIELD, AND THAT WILL BE THE END OF YOU!!!"

The dark Necromancer snapped his fingers, and the massive shield collapsed, and the army of darkness advanced on the surviving evil creatures. God Emperor roared victoriously, and prepared to watch the rest suffer and die.

Suddenly, the clouds parted, and the one-winged angel appeared in the heavens.

Angelic One: "Reenkis Roinkis.... you miserable fool. You were captured again??? How many times has this happened to you?"

God Emperor: "They could never overpower ME. What are you talking about? I am preparing to annihilate them all, and become the sole master of the universe. Not even YOU can stand in my way."

Angelic One: "Is that so? You crave power, but you're not nearly clever enough to wield it. Not against a legendary SOLDIER such as myself. I am the savior. I am the hero."

God Emperor: "You're as stupid as these weaklings if you thought I would ever bow down before you, Sephiroth. Now you will experience the full power of my dark necromancy!!!"

As soon as God Emperor was finished speaking, Sephiroth raised his hand, and the vortex in the sky widened, and from the center of the vortex came a massive, hurtling METEOR. The object began to fall toward the city, threatening to destroy everything within it, including Reenkis Roinkis.

God Emperor: "You cannot destroy me. I'll just come back again, and again... we will meet again one day, 'hero', and when that day comes, I will make you suffer in a hell of your own design, just as you have done to me...."

Angelic One: "Leaving so soon? Don't you want to stay and feel my blade remove your head from your body? Don't you wish to feel pain and despair?"

God Emperor: "You wouldn't be nearly this arrogant without that machine. I will possess the machine.... even if I must die to possess it."

Angelic One: "I no longer need the machine. And I no longer need any of you. You've all proven to be quite dispensable. The time has come for all suffering to end... by my hands."

God Emperor: "I'd love to stay and chat, but death awaits you, and all who oppose me. I'll be back, I promise you this......"

With that, Reenkis Roinkis vanished, and his army of the undead vanished with him. The METEOR remained in the sky, falling toward the city. The Angel did nothing to stop it.

Link was sitting in his mansion, enjoying a fine glass of Cold Duck, when a terrifying figure burst through the window, and proceeded to tear the old man limb from limb.

shlin28 was keeping a watchful eye out for danger, and sure enough, danger approached. It was none other than the green-eyed angel with one wing.

The Angel towered over shlin28, and drew a long, shimmering blade. shlin28 tried to hide inside his shell, but the blade cleaved the tiny one in half.

Subotan was sitting in a taxi. It was no ordinary taxi... it was in the possession of the Cosa Nostra. Subotan was no ordinary cab driver... he was a ruthless, dangerous criminal. He was the leader of the Valerio Family.

Suddenly, a powerful figure approached, and summoned demonic creatures.... evil, evil creatures with glowing red eyes and sharp teeth. The creatures surrounded the cab, and chewed through the glass windows.

The Angel did nothing to stop it.

The METEOR continued to fall, threatening to annihilate everyone and everything.

Finally, Earthling stepped forward, and pointed his sword at A Completely Inoffensive Name.

Earthling: "It's you. It's been you all along. I knew it.... I knew it.... and I will finally have your head."

A completely inoffensive name: "No, you have it all wrong, silly Earthling. It's clearly the silent one..... PSYCHONAUT!"

Earthling: "No! Enough! I will destroy you! Prepare to taste my steel!"

The Black Knight who always triumphs, although chopped into bitty bitty bits, pulled himself together and attempted to attack the stronger, but mostly inoffensive, named person.

The inoffensive man deflected the Black Knight's blow easily, and tossed his limp body into a gutter, and stared down the one known as Psychonaut.

A completely inoffensive name: "You.... I know you've been murdering. I accuse you of being the one we're after. Speak now, or forever end up in pieces."

Psychonaut: ".............."

A completely inoffensive name: "Answer me, Psychonaut! Stand and face your accuser! SPEAK!!!"

Psychonaut: ".............."

MANBEARPIG

Half Man, Half Bear, Half Pig

Finally, Psychonaut turned and faced his accuser. He looked at the inoffensive one with gleaming, golden eyes. He was a powerful, vicious-looking figure. He opened his jaw and roared his displeasure at being accused.... he didn't like it..... not.... one.... bit.

Psychonaut: "...................."

A completely inoffensive name: "You don't frighten me, pig. It's time for all the little piggies to be slaughtered...."

And so, the man with the inoffensive name brandished a knife and lunged towards Manbearpig, the notorious, legendary, mythical beast that Al Gore predicted would destroy the world.

Was Al Gore right all along?

Could Al Gore have been right about other things?

Like Global Warming?

It certainly felt like hell was creeping up on them.... the burning magma.... the searing ash that filled the sky.... the intense heat.

It was true.

It was all true.

Al Gore.... was right.

And now, Manbearpig would destroy them all, by tearing them limb from limb, starting with the most inoffensive name among them.

The other beings stood back and watched, as the glorious Manbearpig approached ACIN, and snarled with raw power. Then, he lunged.

The inoffensively named man did the same, holding the knife and thrusting it deep into the chest of the ferocious beast. But the beast did not stop....

The beast lifted up the completely inoffensive man, and began to rip at his body with his powerful claws. He slammed the figure against the ground, and threw him against the nearest wall, bloodying the man and shattering bone.

The beast was winning.... and now, the Black Knight who Always Triumphs joined in the fray, attacking the completely inoffensive one from behind. It was a vulgar brawl, not going according to plan.

It was at this point that the spectators decided to intervene.... they lunged forward, and pulled the Black Knight off of ACIN, and tried to destroy Manbearpig.

They tried, and failed. It was too strong.....

Manbearpig lifted up the largest of them, and hurled that figure into the crowd, knocking them all down.

Then the beast roared in agony, and fell.......

It seemed that the completely inoffensive one had managed to saw halfway through the beast's neck with his knife, and the Manbearpig died from the wounds.

Surely it was over now.... they had found the last of the chaotics. Now the Angel would stop the meteor from falling....

But the meteor did not stop.

When the Angel finally appeared from the clouds, he just laughed at the remaining survivors, and pointed to the sky....

This fight was not over, and everyone was still in grave danger.

Visorslash knew it was coming, but he wasn't worried at all. After all, he had been to Hell before.... over and over again, it seemed. Where was he gonna go, Detroit?

He was a bit surprised by the masked figure when it showed up, wielding a fearsome, powerful weapon.... a Killer Rabbit wielding a chainsaw.

Visorslash: "Hey, RELAX GUY! Take a rest! Look over there! Don't kill me... I'm Saddam Hussein. Nobody kills me, baby. Now get that butt back to bed!"

The ferocious rabbit lunged, and took Visor's realistic head clean off of the shoulders of his construction paper body.

Visorslash: "OW, that smarts! But don't worry, I'll be back! We're already in Hell.... where am I gonna go, Detroit?"

issaikhaan was busy changing his name for the umpteenth time, when he was attacked by a vampire wielding a medieval spiked mace, and he was bludgeoned until he was unrecognizable. The killer with black wings began to feast on the heart of fallen khaan, to gain his courage.

His rich and tasty courage...

Backwards Logic was prepared, he knew he would be attacked. It was only a matter of time. And so, he put on The Suit. It was the last suit he would ever wear.... again.

The Tanooki suit filled the Fire Brother with the power of the Mario brothers.... the strange, strange power to look like a raccoon and turn into a stone statue. It was really an awesome power, but surely the Hammer Brothers suit would be an even better.... oh wait, he was already a Fire Brother.

He could turn to stone, shoot fire, and he could fly. He was nearly invincible with power, and so when the one-winged Angel approached, holding a massive, slender blade, Backwards Logic knew just what to do!

He sprang into action, and with a running start, he flew up high into the sky, and began raining fiery death down upon the scarred Angel. Then, he turned into stone and tried to flatten the Angel like a missile.

The Angel quickly jumped out of the way, and spun quickly to decapitate the Super Tanooki Fire Brother Stone Statue... thing. But the blade just made a loud clattering noise as it struck the invulnerable statue.

Inwardly, Backwards Logic chuckled. There was nothing Sephiroth could do to destroy him.... no.... nothing at all.

Sephiroth struck with his Masamune, again, and again, barely chipping the solid stone form. Backwards Logic was indeed bulletproof.

It was then that Sephiroth lifted the statue high into the sky using his magic, and summoned hot, searing gasses in a massive sphere around Backwards Logic. It was all the Fire Brother could do to hold his statue form and not take any damage. The gasses grew hotter, and hotter, and eventually they ignited and began burning with the sheer intensity of a thousand stars.

Backwards Logic maintained the solid, invulnerable form for as long as he could, but the form began to flicker.... after all, the Tanooki Suit could only hold its form as a statue for so long before you needed to breathe....

The gasses collapsed, shattering the stone statue in a violent SUPERNOVA.

The flickering, stunned body of the Fire Brother fell from the sky, and just as the momentary invulnerability wore off, he was impaled along the deadly Masamune.

In his final moments, he watched Sephiroth hold up the 7 of Hearts card. The card began to burn, as did the body of Fire Brother.... hot enough to make even the Fire Brother scream in agony.

Sephiroth's blade vanished, and in his hands he held the remaining 8 cards. A grin crept slowly over his scarred face, as the METEOR continued hurtling toward the remnants of the city.

Hidden well by his disguise, The Angel waited. The others talked amongst themselves, quite sure this time, they had found their traitor.

The sky continued to burn, as the METEOR fell toward the survivors. Ash and dust filled the poisonous air. The sky was black, and dead.

Then, they called out a name.

"Greyblades"

Greyblades turned, and looked at the remaining survivors. He was about to speak in his defense, but decided that was no longer necessary.

Greyblades looked up at the hurtling METEOR, and back at the others.

"A fitting end.... truly, you all deserve what's coming to you." said Greyblades. "Come, METEOR.... end their suffering. Come and wash away the pain."

"Where is the Angel?" someone said. The others looked around, and sure enough, the Angel was nowhere to be seen.

"Well isn't it obvious?" remarked Greyblades. "It was me all along. I'm the one you've been looking for. I've been hiding among you this entire time. I've been very busy at night, yes.... very busy. You see, while you've all been sleeping, I've been planning and plotting. And soon I will have control over all your little minds. Involuntarily, you will become my puppets. A glorious empire we will build, and I will be your supreme overlord. Now, give yourselves to me, my children...."

Romanic stepped forward. "No, Sephiroth, it is over! You're done hiding, you're done running, now it is time to fight. It's time to end this, once and for all! Let us go, Sephiroth, and we shall escape from Hell and rule the cosmos.... together!"

Kagemusha also stood face-to-face-to-face with Greyblades, and both of him looked very menacing. "We might have died, but we're back, and now there's going to be no stopping us!"

Earthling managed to pull himself together and he stood facing Greyblades. Even through his helmet, he looked quite ferocious. "NONE shall pass."

A completely inoffensive name stood facing Greyblades, knife in hand. "You will not escape. The day of reckoning is at hand, at long last!"

ArpeggiateTHIS stepped forward, and accused Beefy187. "I swear, you guys, it's him! It's the one you least suspect! Look at that face... that's the face of a guilty, guilty cow. Beefy, you silly moo-moo, defend yourself!"

Beefy187 just stood silently, watching the events unfold. Winston Hughes did the same. The duo looked on in silence as the remaining survivors surrounded Greyblades.

Greyblades: "Very well. It's all of you against me, then? That's fine.... let's see how you like it when the eggs hatch..."

Suddenly, Earthling fell to his knees, and started moaning loudly. The Knight gripped his helmet, as if in terrible, horrible pain. From out of the helmet came a massive swarm of flying parasites. The swarm immediately moved toward Romanic, Kagemusha, and ACIN, as if trying to infect their bodies.

Greyblades laughed as this happened, and opened his mouth wide.... revealing another swarm of parasitic creatures.... and these creatures went after Arpeg, Beefy, and Winston Hughes.

Greyblades: "If you will not follow me by choice, then you will obey me by force!"

In the ensuing chaos, Greyblades cackled with evil glee, watching his swarm attack and infect the remaining survivors. Soon the universe would be his.... and his species would become the dominant form of life. It was already the most intelligent.

Through the swarm, the smoke, and the ash, a lone figure appeared behind Greyblades, and it drew the fateful Masamune.

The Angel: "Nice try..... but like all inferior forms of life, the time has come for you to be exterminated."

With a graceful swing of his sword, Sephiroth cleaved The Snatcher in half, revealing that Greyblades wasn't even remotely human. Inside, he was a quivering mass of egg sacs, protoplasm, and a gigantic parasite queen.

Summoning a hellish fireball, Sephiroth incinerated the swarm, setting all the remaining survivors on fire. As they fell to the ground, screaming in pain, Sephiroth pulled out the 3 of Clubs card, and crumpled it up. The card seemed to turn to dust, as the body of The Snatcher did the same.

The Angel: "The game is nearly at an end, as are your lives. Night falls, and a new day dawns. And on that day, the mistakes of the past will be forgotten.... your sins will be forgiven.... and you will all be allowed to rest. Pleasant dreams....."

Winston Hughes looked up from his prayer book, and saw a figure with black wings and vicious-looking fangs standing in front of him. The figure was wielding a huge medieval mace covered in spikes.

The Pastor stood up, and prepared himself to meet his doom. The vampire attacked mercilessly, beating the evil Pastor to a bloody pulp, relishing in the sweet metallic taste of blood that splattered everywhere.

The vampire left the scene, covered in blood, with a cruel, victorious grin on its twisted face.

A tall, powerful figure approached the fallen body of shlin28, and spoke some arcane words. Within moments, the corpse of the Boomerang Brother came back to life, and in perfect health. But the tall figure was already gone.

Kagemusha was ready. They knew it would come down to this....

Itchy and Scratchy donned the Tanooki Suit, and shielded themselves with the powerful Mirror Shield. With brass knuckles and golden lugers, the duo formed a nearly unstoppable presence. They were ready to do battle.

Itchy: "Come fight me, Sephiroth! Or are you too much of a chicken?"

Scratchy: "Yeah, those feathers sure make you look like one, tee-hee!"

And soon enough, the Angel came.

Sephiroth: "Do you really believe you have the power to stop me, with those trinkets?"

Itchy: "There's one way to find out. Come and face us!"

Scratchy: "You'll never get past these defenses, and we'll kill you for sure even if you try!"

Sephiroth: "You seem to be forgetting that I rule this universe.... I hold in the palm of my hands your very souls.... I can obliterate any of you... all of you... at any time. I hold all the cards. You continue to be, or cease to exist, at my whim."

Itchy: "You're bluffing. If you were really that powerful, then why make us think we can defeat you?"

Sephiroth: "I already told you why you were here. Weren't you listening? You were meant to prove yourselves worthy of existence. You failed."

Scratchy: "Even if what you were saying is true, then your game is unfair!"

Sephiroth: "Fair? You're nothing but a bunch of murderous evil criminals. Since when did you care about what is fair? I make the rules. I make the laws. I AM YOUR GOD!"

Itchy: "You need to die in the worst way."

Sephiroth: "Yes.... come and make me die, if you can!"

Sephiroth flew toward the twin figures of Itchy and Scratchy, wielding the deadly Masamune. The SOLDIER swung the blade, and it struck the body of Itchy, which had been turned to stone by the Tanooki suit.

Scratchy: "Taste hot lead, you creep!"

Scratchy pointed the golden luger at Sephiroth, and began firing the golden bullets at the Angelic One, but they all passed straight through his body, leaving him unharmed.

It was at this point that Sephiroth summoned dark magic, and began firing deadly shadowy orbs at Scratchy, who reflected them back at Sephiroth with the mirror shield.

The magical orbs struck the body of Sephiroth, exploding in a massive flare of dark power. Itchy and Scratchy both took cover, as the massive explosion rocked the center of the city.

When the smoke and ash cleared the air, and the shockwave had passed, Itchy and Scratchy looked up to see if their tormentor was gone.

Itchy: "No.... that can't be! That's impossible!!"

Scratchy: "Why won't you die? WHY???"

Sephiroth: "There is no escape. There is no way to win. You are too weak... you're nothing but insects compared to me. You aren't worthy of sharing an existence with me, even if you were to serve as my cowering, loyal dogs. Now you will experience final, everlasting death...."

Summoning all his power, Sephiroth lifted the cat and mouse into the air, and a ball of hot gasses began swirling around the cartoon duo. The ball of gas ignited , sending a shockwave of power throughout The Purgatory. The intense heat and light parted the skies, and shattered the buildings below. The swirling, burning mass then began to collapse in on itself, in a massive SUPERNOVA.

The Tanooki Suit could not protect the duo from this power, nor could the Mirror Shield redirect it back at Sephiroth. The Angel was Immune....

The bodies of Itchy and Scratchy fell from the heavens, flickering with momentary invulnerability. Sephiroth flew toward them, and swung the Masamune in a blinding, furious multi-strike.

The bloody bits and pieces of what was once Itchy and Scratchy incinerated as they fell from the sky, as the Angel Sephiroth laughed maniacally from the heavens. The smoke and the clouds swirled around Sephiroth, trapped in a vortex of power. The Angel held the 9 of Diamonds and the 8 of Hearts cards, and cackled with glee as they both caught fire and turned to dust.

Sephiroth looked at the remaining cards in his hand, and grinned madly. Then he looked to the sky, and watched the METEOR fall.....

Sephiroth: "Time's up...."

DAY TWELVE

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, regardless of your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mount St. Edelite.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.

And so, the survivors gathered together at the center of the destroyed city. Pools of magma were creeping up the main avenues and side streets, and most of the buildings had been slowly consumed by fire.

This place no longer resembled The Purgatory. Instead, it looked almost exactly like the Hell from whence they came. They were surrounded on all sides by an infinity of hellfire, an army of the undead lying in wait just beyond the flames, smoke, and ash. The sky turned the color of blood, and was nearly covered by dark clouds. Through the clouds of billowing ash, there seemed to be only one light source.... the red hot METEOR which was rapidly approaching the city. They had only hours left before impact.

They looked around for the Angel, who was nowhere to be seen. But the tall structure at the center of the city was still standing, and inside had to be the source of all of Sephiroth's power. The atmospheric vortex continued to swirl around the twisted tower, as if channeling all of Sephiroth's rage.

The six of them stared at one another with accusatory eyes. Logically, they knew that some among them had to be innocent.

The ones that had been dead already, such as Boomerang Brother, were demised while Sephiroth was still alive and kicking. They knew that Boomer could not be Sephiroth.

Others, such as the Lord of Annihilation, had been attacked by Sephiroth himself, and managed to survive. Indeed, the tall, powerful figure had become quite a nuisance, challenging the nigh-unstoppable power of the Angelic One, and resurrecting villain after villain, to thwart Sephiroth's reign of terror.

Some, like the Satanic chainsaw-wielding maniac Josh Timman had less ironclad alibis. It was true, Timman had been out murdering at night the same as Sephiroth.... but they were never in the same place at the same time. It was known that his actions did not clear him at all. Worse, they had taken out many villains who could have aided the survivors in their struggle. He hadn't managed to eliminate any of the chaotics with his mad vigilantism... some even began to suspect that he could simply be Sephiroth in disguise, committing additional kills, assisted by the power of the TRIFORCE.

Strangely, he remained quiet for days at a time, and no one questioned his motives. At least not openly.... and if they did, it seemed that his gigantic chainsaw made them change their minds.

The God of Destruction was no less a suspect. While he, too, had been out killing at night with his ceremonial blade, this did not clear him of suspicion. What did him credit, however, was his early attempts to wipe out now-known Chaotic scumbags. Some felt that he was making too many mistakes, typical of those who were clueless among them. It was thought that if he were Chaotic, then he had given a performance that was no less than masterful. Many of the honored dead agreed with this viewpoint, even though he wasn't fully cleared. Some even suggested that the voiceless Narrator had let it slip that the possibility of his death wouldn't have ended the game. However, the voiceless Narrator warned them that such comments were accidental and open to misinterpretation by mere mortals. Still, his record for attacking known Chaotics and repeated requests to be cleared of suspicion by an accurate scan seemed to weigh heavily in his favor, even if his theories about the dead attacking the survivors seemed like perfect information syndrome.

The Knight Who Says Ni was hardly ever a suspect. It seemed that he suffered from multiple personalities, and had on occasion switched personality altogether during these trying times. Although in their past lives, these villains could remember instances of evil scumbags suffering from that exact same affliction, for no reason whatsoever, they seemed to believe that it meant that the Knight Who Says Ni was cleared of all charges.

What a silly person to think such a thing.... why, even the Narrator himself suffered from that irrational bit of thinking, in a past life or two....

Finally, there was the Black Knight, who it was rumored, never lost a battle, and always triumphed. It seemed to several people that this one was perhaps a bit too talkative, a bit too certain of the correctness of his point of view.

He also had HUGE ~~tracts of land~~ walls of text.

This one had been certain about the villainy of the one known as the God of Destruction for some time, and repeatedly attempted to persuade others to listen to his point of view. It was perhaps his repeated insistence on this and many other points over the weeks that began to make the others turn away... for while the Black Knight had been correct before, he had also been incorrect before, and he was still certain he alone was meant to rule The Purgatory.

He was their hero.

He was their savior....

He was also almost completely indestructible. He had been attacked before, and successfully blocked those attacked. He had been attacked and attacked, and sometimes he was not so successful in blocking those attacks. He bore the scars of many, many rounds of combat. He was nearly dead.... in fact, he was starting to rot, as blood was incapable of reaching his extremities. There were some extremities over here, and some over there. He was all over the place, really. Quite beside himself, in fact. [Insert further jokes about being a dismembered corpse here]

He was even successfully accused of being one of them..... and indeed, was successfully lynched by the mob before. Yet he survived. He survived.....

Some began to question this enormous, remarkable power. And his certainty that he was their savior.... and their hero.... while systematically helping to destroy them, one by one.

Some of them thought he might BE Sephiroth. It was also possible, perhaps, just perhaps, that this rotting corpse with medieval weaponry was more than meets the eye.....

And so, the five other survivors surrounded the one known as Earthling that is called Earthling.

They accused him of being a "silly Kniggit."

They told him to "go and boil" his "bottom".

They said his mother was a "hamster", and that his father "smelt of elderberries".

They said that he "did not frighten" them with his "silly knees bent running around advancing behavior".

He responded that they were a "cheesy lot" of "second-hand electric donkey-bottom biters". He suggested that he wafted his private parts at their aunties, and they were the sons of a window dresser.

Meanwhile, the Narrator pushed a cart filled with dead bodies through the center of town, right in the middle of the standoff.

Narrator: "Bring out yer dead! Bring out yer dead!"

Josh Timman: "Here's one."

Narrator: "Nine pence."

Josh Timman: "Here's your ninepence."

The Black Knight: "I'm not dead!"

Narrator: "What?"

Josh Timman: "Nothing. There's your ninepence."

The Black Knight: "I'm not dead."

Narrator: "Ere, he says he's not dead."

Josh Timman: "Yes he is."

The Black Knight: "I'm not."

Narrator: "He isn't?"

Josh Timman: "Well, he will be soon, he's mortally wounded.

The Black Knight: "It's just a flesh wound."

Josh Timman: "No it isn't. All your limbs have been hacked off and you've completely bled out about a week ago. It's a wonder you're not attracting rats."

Narrator: "Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations."

The Black Knight: "I don't want to go on the cart."

Josh Timman: "Oh, don't be such a baby."

Narrator: "Well, I can't take him. He's sort of invincible, you know."

The Black Knight: "I'M INVINCIBLE!!!"

Josh Timman: "Oh, do us a favor. We've been trying to get rid of him for quite some time. We think he's Sephiroth, or possibly that vampire with the medieval weaponry."

Narrator: "I can't take living people, you know that. Why did you think he was Sephiroth anyway? Didn't he get hacked to bits by Sephiroth himself rather early on?"

The Black Knight: "THE BLACK KNIGHT ALWAYS TRIUMPHS!!!"

Josh Timman: "Please? Pretty please? I mean we've done all we could to the poor lad and he's still not doing his civic duty and expiring when his life is at an end. He's a bloody torso that's out of its bleedin' mind."

The Black Knight: "I could take you lot single-handed."

Josh Timman: "You haven't got any arms left, you silly sod."

The Black Knight: "Yes I have."

Narrator: "Look, there's a rather large pile of corpses I've got to deliver to the outskirts of the city, and I'm kind of in a hurry. If you'll excuse me."

Josh Timman: "When's your next round?"

Narrator: "Thursday."

Josh Timman: "This Thursday? You mean today?"

Narrator: "If I meant today, I would have said today. When I say Thursday, I mean next Thursday."

Josh Timman: "Well you could mean the Thursday after that. I could have thought you meant next Thursday, when you meant the Thursday after next Thursday."

Narrator: "No, nonsense. There's no way I could possibly mean next Thursday when I said Thursday."

Josh Timman: "THERE!!! See? You just referred to it as "next" Thursday, when the next Thursday that's on the calendar is "this" Thursday."

Narrator: "No, because "this" Thursday is the one we're presently in. If I mean the Thursday after that, I would say "next" Thursday, since it is the one immediately after this present Thursday."

Josh Timman: "You're wrong, today is Thursday, and this coming Thursday is in one week, and the next Thursday after that is "next" Thursday."

Narrator: "Well, you're changing the parameters of the discussion. You just called it "this coming" Thursday. Surely you do realize of course that "this coming" Thursday is not the same as "this" Thursday?"

Josh Timman: "That's not the point. The point is, when you originally said Thursday, that presented a bit of a poser, because today is in fact Thursday, and when you say Thursday, by itself, that could mean either today or one week from the present date."

Narrator: "You can't just declare what the point is. I had a valid point! You're not listening. Today is "Thursday", "this" Thursday is the coming Thursday, and "next" Thursday is the next one after. That's the way it's always been."

Josh Timman: "Maybe in your hellfire-addled senile old brain, but we people from the REAL WORLD understand the difference between "this" bloody Thursday and "next" bleedin' THURSDAY!"

Narrator: "I'm the Narrator, you stupid git! I decide what's true, it's my

story and I'll tell it how I want to!"

issaikhaan: Watch your language, gentlemen.

Josh Timman: "What in the blazes was THAT???"

Narrator: "Oh, that? That's a Moderator. Legend has it that Moderators are masters of time and space, able to break fourth walls, and silence those who would dare fill their precious .org with smut and filthy language. It has been said that they can slay spambots by the hundreds, ban even the most offensive of trolls, and still maintain their suave and awe-inspiring appearance, with hardly any entrails on their dark green suits."

Josh Timman: "Astounding."

Policeman #1: "All right, stop that. Stop that. This dialogue has gone on quite long enough and it is clearly just stalling for suspense. You're under arrest for 12 counts of long and rambling storytelling, several counts of grievous and intentional foreshadowing, several counts of plagiarism with respect to ripping off other people's mafia game ideas, at least one count of deus ex machina with that whole super vague weapon reference, and 50 million counts of not making any bloody sense."

Narrator: "It's a fair cop!"

Policeman #1: "Take him away, boys."

*several policemen barge into the center of the city, and drag the silly Narrator away*

Policeman #1: "You know, I didn't always want to be a policeman, and I certainly didn't figure I'd be making my rounds on the streets of some alternate dimension, trapped in the burning fires of hell, trying to stop pizzamen from wasting people's time with excessive and gratuitous storytelling. No, my father wanted me to be a doctor. My mother wanted me to be a lawyer. But I.... I've always wanted to be...... a lumberjack. Leaping from tree to tree.... As they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia! The Larch! The Redwoods! The Mighty Scots' Pine! With my best girl by my side.... we'd sing.... sing..... SING!!!"

Policeman #2: "All right, stop that. You'll not be going into a song while I'm here. I'm charging you with aggravated and grievous continuation of unnecessary dialogue and overly lengthy narrative, and several counts of breaking the fourth wall and many more counts of telling not very funny jokes."

*Policeman #2 shoots Policeman #1 in the face, instantly killing him.*

Policeman #1: "WAUGH!!!"

Policeman #3: "I thought we were just going to arrest him."

Policeman #2: "Wrong."

*Policeman #2 shoots Policeman #3 in the face, instantly killing him.*

Policeman #3: "I only got to say two bloody lines in this whole game!"

Josh Timman: "Could you shoot Earthling for us, please?"

Policeman #2: "Sure."

*Policeman #2 shoots Earthling in the face, instantly killing him.*

The Black Knight: "That stings a rather lot."

Josh Timman: "Ah, thank you very much."

Policeman #2: "Not at all. See you on Thursday."

Josh Timman: "Right."

....

Josh Timman: "Wait, what? Did you mean this Thursday, or next Thursday?"

Policeman #2: "Scratch that, looks like there's a METEOR coming."

And the five remaining survivors looked around and wondered to themselves.... where was the Angel? Where was the big, fantastic showdown? Where was the satisfying, climactic finish? Did they finally prevail over the forces of Chaos? Will they rescue Timmy from the bottom of the old well? And did Lassie really know he was down there, or was she just anxious to go outside for a long-awaited tinkle?

Bark once for yes, twice for no.
