    Default Saved Game Error Message

After completing the campaign and opting to continue on, I now get an error message after I load the saved game and end the turn. When its my turn again, I get an error message that says I loaded a saved game without an authentic copy of Shogun 2 installed and "may" cause the game to become unstable. The message is in several turn update windows that include news that one of my generals committed suicide and bankruptcy is imminent. The game locks when the bankruptcy window comes up and I have to ctl-alt-del out of the game? I would have taken a screenshot of the error message, but I don't know how. Any ideas?

Ok thanks. So with that helpful info, here are some screen shots of the error messages. The one that freezes/locks the game is the bankruptcy one, which is the last window that appears.

This was a counter-measure CA employed against pirating their game. Other results include your save-game being corrupted or armies not being movable. It's possible you've been flagged as a false positive. Head over to the official .com forums (totalwar.com) and raise your issue there, if you were false-positive flagged they'll be able to tell you after a few questions.

As for the save game itself, i doubt it's salvageable.

After thinking some about it it's also possible if you've used a save-game editor or a trainer, that could have caused the save-game to think its not legit.

I didn't find any solutions over at .com or the Steam support forum. However, you are not the only person to have this problem. See this thread over at .com.
