    Default Laundry

I'd just like to celebrate the joys of laundry, and do a little product placement for our Kenmore washer and dryer. They may be old beaters, but the baby's been sleeping like a rock for the last few hours. Praise Sears for a little vibration and white noise.

It's hard to beat a Kenmore. I wouldn't exactly call doing laundry a "joy".

My only regret is that I wish I had ponied up a few hundred more dollars and got a front loading washer instead of top loading. Just not having to worry about the agitator would have been worth it.

Ive gotten so skilled at balancing the washing machine.

EDIT: I agree with OP in that the washing machines are good for getting young ones to sleep.

Aren't you old enough to do your own laundry?

I like doing the laundry, because most of the work is done by the machines and you still get to say you help in the household by doing the laundry

Our vacuum cleaner worked like a charm those first few months

30 secs was enough to get him from crying mode to sleep-like-a-baby mode.

    Pure magic!

I like doing laundry. The effort it takes to wash clothes far outweighs walking around in smelly, dirty garments. :P

2 second hand pairs of pants, two shirts and a baseball cap for under 25$...though tempting to do it that way, I guess you are right. :)

Representing Electrolux from Lowe's. Having a personal washer/dryer in your apartment is almost a status symbol in college.

I don't use mine nearly enough, can I make some extra money by charging others to use it?

When you live in a run down college house with an old wisher/dryer, which doesn't always wash/dry your clothes correctly, located in a filthy basement, no the former doesn't often outweigh the latter.

Edit: I should probably add, so the org doesn't think I stink, that I still wash my clothes.

We've got a matched set of full-size front loading Kenmore washer/dryer. The dryer sits nicely on top of the washer.

Wasn't cheap, about $2K for the set, but worth it. Just paid them off about six-months ago. They've earned their keep.

Best aphrodisiac to give a woman isn't booze or diamonds - it's a front loading washer/dryer.

I'd feel more smug about that when they invent a dryer that folds the dang things too.

Hehehe, in my college years we used to do our laundry during Happy Hour at the tavern conveniently/strategically situated next door to the laundry-mat. Two pitchers of draft and some billiards usually got us through the wash cycle. Then a quick dash to throw them into the dryer, back to the tavern for a few more...laundry was fun back then.

That's weird, the step that made me most independent was getting my own washing machine, it meant I wasn't forced to go to my parents every other weekend and take a big coffer with me anymore.
Not that I don't want to visit them anymore but I can now choose when and for how long and react more flexible to other things that may require my attention on a weekend.

Either I man up and enter the dungeon, or I go to laundromat down the street.
