Default Help with EB Force Diplomacy Mod

Hello. I appologize in advance if there is already a thread on this or something. Also if I am in the wrong place please direct me to a correct help location. I am reposting this from the mods download thread because nobody has been on there for over a year and I would like to have help soon. here it is.
I am really wanting to get this mod. However, I am having a great bit of difficulty. I am confused on several things and would like to ask for assistance. I'm not at all technologically savvy. First: How do you back up files like it says in the instructions. Second: I am trying to download the filefront file and it says I need to find a program to open it. What program do I need? Finally: Once the file is downloaded how do I proceed to get it into my EB folder or whatever to get the mod to work? I appreciate any assitance given. Thank you.

How do you back up files like it says in the instructions
Install a clean RTW 1.5 build on your computer (you can check the version number in the game options menu after starting it), afterwards copy the whole RTW folder to a safe location, this is now your backup.

I am trying to download the filefront file and it says I need to find a program to open it. What program do I need?
FileFront may be buggy with some browsers, either switch to another or download it from our own ftp-server. Simply save the files on your computer.

Once the file is downloaded how do I proceed to get it into my EB folder or whatever to get the mod to work?
The file you just downloaded is an installer, double-click it and the installation will start (that may take a while)

    Installation order (in shortform)

Copy your backup RTW folder to a place outside Program Files if you are using Vista/Win7
Start EB1.1 and direct it to the above created folder (There are some goodies coming with the installer, select them too, you can install them where you want)
Start EB1.2 and direct it to the above created folder
Download the fixes (i.e. from my signature) and copy them to their places as written in the thread
Start EB using EB-Singleplayer found in your RTW/EB folder.

Read the EB-FAQ if you are completely new to EB.

Thank you for help, however I must have not stated myself clearly. I already have EB installed to my computer through the process you listed. I actually was asking about help on installing the Force Diplomacy Mini Mod. You have helped me though on some things like backing up the files, so thank you XSamatan.

Ok, I completely misunderstood your post.

Download the file (IIRC it comes as a .zip-archive) and extract it to a neutral folder. You will now have a folder called EB. Simply copy that over your existing EB directory found in the main RTW folder. Confirm Window's ask for overwriting.
Once in the game follow the instructions given in the thread.
