    Favor an assertive foreign policy
Pro-business; against stricter environmental laws and regulations
Strongly opposed to abortion and same-sex marriage
Convinced the 2010 health care law will be bad for the country
View immigrants as a threat to traditional American customs and values
Nearly half believe President Obama born outside the United States

    Staunch Conservatives

    Who They Are

Apparantly, I'm a staunch conservative. Not that hard, with questions like 'are you poor?' So, how do I receive FOX News?

Is this thing broken? Post-modern. Which means I'm more modern than a modern thing, which is already pretty modern. But I'm so modern that modernity doesn't seem very modern.

    I'm confused.

Post Modern. Although on at least two of the points I know I don't fit.

Generally supportive of government, though more conservative on race policies and the safety net
Favor the use of diplomacy rather than force
I definitely did not give any indication of those two positions in the way I answered the questions, except maybe in supporting environmental regulation.

I think that anybody who refuses to fit an exact left-right mould is relegated as 'postmodern' by this test. They probably expected us to be a small group.

This is why the interwebs are dangerous! You get your head full of conflicting ideas, you fail to fit a single modern narrative!

Basically you Libertarianism says that the Government should be minimal, and not intervene in economy (Private Enterprise) and social affairs (Charity), and basically concentrate on maintaining and upholding the Law, and maintaining the Police Force and the army to counter internal or external threats to the nation.

This test is complete crap. Hurr durr, do you want peace through talking it out or with having more guns? Umm I want peace through economic interdependence. That way can we have as small and army and as incompetent diplomacy as we want. China isn't going to attack us because of our army, and our diplomats are never going to be holding hands with them, it's because they want us to keep buying their stuff.

But no, that can't be an option. I have to make 20+ false dichotomies.

I'm guessing this test works like so:

“Are you a democrat” -> communist
“Are you a republican” -> birther
“Are you independent” -> no you're not. You're just postmodern. You don't have arguments because you end up confused and bored amidst 5 rounds of literary deconstruction of the question, the answer, the hidden assumptions, the arguments, and all the rubbish I just wrote.

    As am I, rather unsurprisingly.

In reality I consider myself post-modern and I find the definition of post-modern used by Pew to be rather strange and really not post-modern at all.

Really, these questions were stupid. I disagree on most choices, either way the needle points. Solid this, solid that...we need some gray.

EDIT: Choosing myself as a strong republican moved me three notches farther to the red, but doing the same for dem moved me nowhere.
