Thread: Why they just can't die?

Angry Why they just can't die?

I'm playing the Macedonian Campaign(ver1.2 of Europa Barbarorum). What frusturates me is that even after two-three battles i played and retreated after causing serious damage, the enemy army still got(same amount as before the battle) units I destroyed totally(in my case Indian elephants, long range archers and other annoying units), why is this?Is it a bug?

retreating makes you technically the loser, so any losses the enemy sustains can be healed. since you are fighting Prryhus of freakin Epirus he has like every ancillary and skill point so he is going to be great at healing losses.

also, missile casualities are much easier to heal than sword/spear casualities

you´re targeting the elephants at the start of the batle the 1st units that suffer the most are normally the one´s having 50% of it´s casualties healed

Lol you have to just destroy Pyrrhus in one massive battle and WIN, or you're probably boned playing as a Makedone.

When a soldier is "killed" in battle, there's a chance of healing him at the end of battle. In a battle with 2 large armies causalties healed can easily number 100 soldiers or more if the general has a doctor as anciliare

100? If you're fighting against the AI that's an understatement, I had a battle once, where the AI healed 6-800 men afterwards -.-

i have had batles where i healed over 1000 units you just need the right ancilliaries like the druidic doctor amongst others

yep, druidic healer, druidic surgeon and your own fm can learn a bit about druidic science. will save a lot of downed soldiers, almost 90%

If a knowledgeable druid is leading your armies and he has druids as ancillaries it can indeed be ridiculously easy to lead one huge full stack to conquer a nation. Almost all the casualties heal after the battle if you win.

I played a huge Casse campaign and educated all my leaders on Inis-Duwall, it's 40-45% healing at best. Only Gauls can get higher rates because their last 2 levels of the druidic-trait get more healing bonus (15 points) then the Casse one (actually it's 5 points for the casse on all levels and the same for the lower gallic ones), but it's nearly impossible to get that high traits for your FMs.
The problem is that the AI gets an invisible commander-trait that gives extra healing points so they can get 40-55% healing for the more experienced generals quite easily. Casse AI generals may be worse but I never fought them.
Missile wounds don't heal easier it just seems so because the soldiers "defeated" by missiles are usually the first wounded and the earlier a soldier got wounded the higher the chances for him to get healed (sometimes you see units having all or nearly all losses healed).

The druidic healing trait has nothing to do with Ynys-Duwall, it is tied to temples of fun and temples of governors (Llew and Andraste for Casse)
The trait from Ynys-Duwall affects law, troop morale and influence, not healing.

The Gauls get anywhere from 35 to 75% healing from an experienced druid general with ancillaries, like I said. I know it's hard to get a general with such awesome traits, but if you do, then use him wisely because when you heal 50% to 75% of your dead each battle, you can just keep on rolling through army after army with a big fullstack.

    I know that.
But the region starts with the highest School-building of the celts and I build everything else that gives good traits there, including a big temple of Llew, so it produced my best druids.
Ynys-Duwall should actuelly help boosting druidic skills, the trait description says so. I know it doesn't, probably because the team hadn't the time do implement this, like many other traits and triggers.

Mod the AIGeneral trait line. Should take care of all your problems.
