I want to download a gif creater that might be easy to use and understand for a novice. Free would be nice but I am open to other suggestions. Any recomendations, and links? Needs to come with instructions, the gif creator that is!

Hello.
Gimp
I also highly endorse
GIMP. It's essentially Photoshop, but free and opensource. It's the only image editor I use.
Thanks, looks good. Which file do I download? There are so many, it confuses me!
Thanks! :)
Are the instructions downloadable or part of the application download? I installed it and fooled around with it somewhat, but in reality, I have no idea what I am doing! Thanks! :)
Manual is a separate download. You can find it here:
http://www.gimp.org/docs/
It does take a bit of getting used to. If you're used to Photoshop, things are not in the same locations. However, once you get used to it, it's a good program. Does everything you need, and it's free. Hard to ask for more.
For me, whenever I need to learn how to do something in GIMP, it's just as easy as typing "gimp" and whatever it is I'm trying to do with it into Google. Usually there's no shortage of guides, tutorials, instructional videos, ect to be found.
Thanks! I think a tutorial would be the best! :)
Another vote for GIMP. The only reason not to use it was the lack of professional print color separations, but there are plugins for that now. And who uses printing presses anymore?
I want to make those goofy little repeating video thingies. I found a link with tutorials for beginner, intermediate and expert. I am going to start with those. I am sure there are many more I can look into. :)
