Thread: Enabling units for different factions

Default Enabling units for different factions

Can I enable recruitment of Parthian Armored Horse Archers for Arche Seleukiea?

I would like to roleplay the creation of units similar to byzantine kataphraktoi, capable for both melee combat and long range archery, and those "Shivatîr-î Zrêhbârân" seem like the closest thing in EB (if there are some better units for my intended purpose please share).

I would be very thankfull if some kind soul could explain me how to do this. I've never modded RTW, but I have some minor experience from other games, so I hope I'll understand quickly.

P.S. If possible I would also like to rename them and up their secondary attack a bit.

I think the Armenians would work better for kataphraktoi - they're worse, but the Arche already got (nearly) the best of everything, giving them the best armored horse archers in game would just mess it even more up IMO :)

I think maybe a little more realistic unit for the AS to recruit would be the Baktrioi Hippotoxotai

yeah baktrian horse archers are way more realistic. change their range to 185. 170 for horse archers is pathetic

Added unit will only be used in my current campaign - where I'm already the far more powerfull than any competitor. I want to roleplay the creation of these units as a response to horse archer warfare that's constant on my northern borders. As this AS is extremely rich and wealthy, I wanted to use best horse archer in game, unit which would have the best armor and training possible. As I can't make them, I want to use the best unit in game.

I would also like to add some cheaper unit as a medium alternative, those units you suggested should work out fine.

I would be interested in instigating something similar to the OP, adding in the Baktrioi Hippotoxotai would provide an interesting roleplaying aspect. Anyone skilled in this area of unit addition?
