There's a thread on both Victoria games already.
oh, couldn't see them on the quick last night oops
cool man, just a few as most links for this game are broken and others deal with mods et al anyway, only one war at a time? and how does one get the economy off the ground. i played as mexico fighting the texans they sued for peace and gave me provinces then the states of central america got me and then i ended up fighting wars the would heat up north and south with my economy just lacking anything close to vigor. i would expand the main things in each province but i would never see a the pounds above 90 it was weird. i know one must research tech and that to get the trains running. its a fun game that makes me want to play it
wow what a ramble that was
that's funny, i just found that today. thanx man
Also, OHgamer's Power by Production AAR is an excellent guide for beginners in my opinion. He goes into a fair amount of detail on the economy/production side of the game. Though he is playing with a mod(VIP which is a very good mod) that IIRC changes some of the goods in the game, but I don't think that matters much.
As far as your questions go. The first one I'm not sure about to be honest. I've never tried to declare multiple wars at once, so I can't really answer that question.
The economy is different for every type Interventionist, State Capitalism, etc. Your question seems to be about expanding RGOs, so I'll address that. I don't know if expanding them actually draws workers to that province or not to be honest. Rails increase production in RGOs and so do some techs. Depending on what type of economy you have will determine how factories are built. I hope that helps.
thnanx that is some help. i think i have not giving it as much time to play out . it seems that i should read up on a few things and move forward. thanx for your attention and i will be reading that linkie.
i think the problem was i was trying to play mexico right out of the box. talk about a slow economy. right now i am playing the grand campaign with the US. whew what a difference. all i have to do is build a factory and BAM it is pumping out product. what a dynamic economy. i'll see how far i get here and what i can learn. thanx for the linkies
Mexico is definitely a challenge.
For a first game, Belgium is the most common advice. Small country, good literacy, not too many colonies, no one is picking on you and so on...
i don't get belgium as an option. is it necesary to unlock factions?
Nope, right click on one of the flags and choose any nation.
sure enough, i was not looking with my eyes open, aparently. oops
here goes for another try
edit- whoa, both the nederlands and prussia are invading, they don't like my independence i suppose.

You start with war against Netherlands but it ends with event and your independence. Later UK, France and Prussia guarantee your independence which means that with a little sucking up to UK later in the game you're pretty much safe.
