Also, given the warm reception my game got, I'll be reserving a spot again once my calendar for the next few years becomes clear. :)

There's never really been any restrictions, put a thread in the GAH, and Pizza or Chatoix will surely tell you if there is an issue.

john is correct. There are no restrictions on non-mafia games.

You can make a thread in the Gameroom Assembly to try and draw interest before you are ready to host.

When you feel that you're ready, just shoot ATPG or me a PM to get our attention and we'll move it to the Gameroom and give you the go-ahead to start.
