Chancellor Report, Spring 263 BCE
Construction:
Three new projects were started this season: firstly, the merchant port of Sidon is being expanded, which will take about two and a half years. The second one is in Side, which follows the cities like Tarsos, Damaskos and Hierosolyma, in establishing city-state festivals. On top of that, the festivals in Damaskos have finally made their debute. The last project that was started is in Ammonion, where walls are being constructed to help defend Leontiskos Thraikikos and the city from the bandits who are plaguing the countryside until the 1st Syrian can make it back. It should take about 6 months.
As a result of the extensive trade, the marketplace in Salamis has expanded.
Recruitment:
The entire navy has been repaired and outfitted with replacements.
Battles:
Timon Arrhidaeos defeated a small Seleukid relief army, and Lysimachos Ptolemaios' navy under Admiral Praxagoras has defeated some pirates off the coast of Cape Tainaron.
Diplomacy:
Our arch enemies, the Arche Seleukeia, has gained new allies in the Saka Rauka, a nomadic people far to the north. Though this is unlikely to directly affect us, it has the potential of allowing the Seleukids to divert more attention to our border.
Misc.:
Philadelphos Ptolemaios continues his journey west.
One of our spies have infiltrated Edessa and is providing us with accurate and up-to-date information of its garrison and defences.
Paraitonion has grown so large that the government needs to be expanded there.
Alexandros Thraikikos' wife, Tanetamun, has given birth to a son. He has been given the name Theodotas Thraikikos.
