I wish to establish an estate in Alexandria (because it's the capital and the farming rate is 1.5) If the region matters but the exact spot does not, I'd put it where there is the least chance of an enemy army stepping on it. I think this would be a good spot:

And who will be supervisors in your estate?
(OOC: Please choose a unit who will stay in the fort: Akontistai, Toxotai or Sphendonetai)

I would also wish to create an estate in Alexandria, possibly near the coast to avoid any bandits and enemy armies.

A unit of toxotai will suffice for my supervisors.

I would request also, an estate in Alexandria. The position should be along the coast as well if possible, but anywhere will do. And I will choose Akontistai to supervise.

No more estates can be built in the Delta region. The only option now is near Memphis.

A unit of toxotai should suffice for that province. May the royal treasurer provide me and the other generals with some information as to how much income can be expected per season from one's estate, and how much income can one expect from four trading ships, on average?

I will, if I'm allowed, build two estates in Memphis, one in the corner created by the nile just south of Memphis, and the other on the south side of that corner. One unit of sphendonetai for each as supervisors.

I will also build 1 cargo ship and please take the trade route between Alexandreia and Salamis.

I will use Alexandreia as an example. The income will increase in time due to population growth and the tax level of the settlement also has an effect on the income. So, currently you get 1775 mnai from estate.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Income from farms + Taxes = 350 + 1425 = 1775 mnai

The important part of the equation that determines the mnai gained from trade is the trade route.
I again use Alexandreia as an example. If you have set the trade route between Alexandreia(home port) and Diospolis Megale(target port) then the income from one ship would be 173 mnai. That's not much. Barely covers the upkeep of the ship. With four ships you get 692 mnai. However, if you use 10 ships you might get 1730 mnai.
Some trade routes are more valuable than others. So, if you instead set the trade route between Alexandreia and Salamis you will get 263 mnai with just one ship! with 10 ships it's 2630 mnai! That is more mnai than the estates could ever produce!

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Trade route between Alexandreia and Diospolis Megale
    Export + Import = 152 + 21 = 173 mnai

OOC: The home port is always the settlement from whose details this information is taken.

Unfortunatelly, dear Basileus, you can't have both trade ships and an estate. Also, only one estate is allowed per province per person. You could ask someone to swap their place in the Delta region.

OOC: You can have one estate near Alexandreia and another one near Memphis but you can not have 2 estates in the same province.

I understand. (OOC: It also dawns on me now that I couldn't afford two estates with sphendons. Two with toxotai, though...)

However, I shall instead put 5000 on creating 10 ships for the trade route between Alexandreia and Salamis.

OOC: I-K, Triereis cost 5500 to build, over three turns. Would it be possible for a player to build them out of personal funds and pay, say 1500 the first year and 2000 in the second and third turns? That's actually probably more realistic than paying everything upfront.

OOC: Very well. I allow it. As long as the person have the neccessary mnai each turn. If he don't then I will cancel that recruitment. Reason would be he lacked funds(which is true). However, he will not receive all the mnai invested into this "project". Also, remember that you later have to pay it's upkeep as well.

Your fleet will be constructed as soon as possible.
Hopefully, you have some sponsors who can financially help you.

Ibn-Khaldun, I think you should edit the OP because this is the third time that the same mistake is made.

Skullhead, please note that you have to choose between either sea trade or an estate. If you choose sea trade, you should also say how many cargo boats you want built, and if you choose an estate, you need to pick a different region. Hierosolyma has a type 3 government and an estate requires the region to have a type 1 gov. I believe there's still room in Memphis.

Edit: that's what happens when you leave the screen before finishing a post. Oh well, at least I gave some extra information.
