Coolest city on the earth and surroundings. Throw away your tourist-guide and go to the old eastblock parts, there is always something happening there.

I used to think Berlin was the coolest city on earth, but that was before I had been to Munich!

I am sure it is still a fun place but most of the places I knew are surely gone by now.

Before you think the German is ignoring you, let me tell you, I've never been there.

I've only been in Berlin a few days but it was a really great city.

I'll always remember that colossal Babylonian gate resurrected inside the Reichsmuseum.

Berlin is certainly the most pleasant city I've visited. It is very neat and green and if you have interest in history and arts, there are many places to visit. For the beginning, I would adivse you start with the Museum island (Museumsinsel). If you have time, visit Potsdam. There is much to be seen in the Sans Souci complex.

Sounds like a good destination then. More suggestions?

    whaaaaat

Munich is deathly dull, and posh - at least for someone of my age group.

If you're into musea and recent history, you should visit the Checkpoint Charlie museum. It's about the Berlin wall and the various, sometimes weird, methods people used to cross it.

The Bundestag is also a must see. Not sure about the rest, it's been over 10 years since I've been to Berlin.
