Yes he PM ed me that he wants to be replaced. This is a second replacement already, and it's still early in the game. Do we keep going or would you like a restart?

Silver Shield, i have this issue sometimes. There is a separate save folder for Early and Late campaigns. Make sure you choose the correct one. Since I'm yet to play a Late campaign the folder with the dozens of save files is the right one for me :D

I really hope Ignoramus joins this game. Nightbringer do you think you can try to sway him over?

So what are the rules about calling crusades and the crusader states. Can we call them anywhere, can they join them? There didn't seem to be a decision made last time this came up and I can't complete my turn until one is made.
I think allowing any target for crusades or Jihads is a good idea because there is a set list of available targets in the game, and not all target cities appear on this list.
As to the Crusader States, it doesn't seem fair for them to get to cancel out our crusades, but it also seems unfair that they lack any type of crusade/jihad mechanic. What do you guys think?

1. When I made the restriction to only target special cities I didn't figure that most targets won't end up on the damn list without significant modding (and I'd hate to mod my SS install, i want to play SP as well). So calling them anywhere is a fine fix for this, if we simply have a gentleman's agreement to still just target each other and prioritize the target cities.
2. The CS is borked up. I'm kind of sorry I didn't see all the problems that would stem from allowing them to join the mussies. For one thing, untill they get excommed they are immune to crusades AND crusading armies. Any city they get (and they're blitzing Egypt now) is also denied as a viable target untill we actually fight them and the pope excomms them. But the bastard may as well excomm US before them, as the CS has a high papal ranking that gets even higher when stomping on AI muslims.
Crud... But anyway SS said that the lack of a crusade/jihad mechanic is offset by the CS's superior unit roster. i think not allowing them to join Crusades and call crusades is enough, and we'll just have to deal with the other stuff. Note that crusading armies will likewise be disallowed for SS to attack untill he gets himself excommunicated.
Still this isn't a deathmatch, one can win just by camping at a target city.

Gee, it's kind of hard to guess where Nightbringer wants to call the first Crusade to. Will it be Cordoba or Grenada? The Crusader States must be allowed to join any Crusade called. It's bad enough that (with Egypt being eliminated) the Muslims lose one faction that could answer a jihad.
edit: The best option might be to ban calling crusades/jihads against human factions for a set number of turns.

Egypt being eliminated means the Cruaders will have a ton of rich provinces and will be able to spam regular armies with much greater effect than normal.

im good without calling any crusade and staying out of any. but yea as long as im still part of mother church there is no crusade against me. thats part of my plan. once im out of church all of the original target cities are eligible again anyway. so we good there. its u guyses decisions and planning whats best until then

I'm agreeable to what silvershield has said about Crusader states, but the question remains, can we call crusades and Jihads on any target as long as we do focus on the enemy faction with it?

Hi..can i join this hs? is here an open slot?
There's an open slot - you can take over the Turks from Visorslash!
I say we can call crusades/jihas anywhere so long as the goal is to aid us in the capturing of a target city.
