I say we can call crusades/jihas anywhere so long as the goal is to aid us in the capturing of a target city.
Ok..i'll take the turks ;)

actually what i was saying is that we are keeping the original target cities as being the only legit crusadable cities. coz as i said the onces im holding are up again anyway once im out of church and the muslim cities are eligible altogether in the first place so why calling the crusade on any other city. if the crusade is called on any other city but the original target city the crusade goes on until the city the crusade had been actually called on is captured. thats as far as im remembering it. so no matter whether the crusade is actually marching on one of the original target cities it s still going on until the city it had been actually called on is captured. that means upkeep and massive movement bonuses still in place even the original target city was taken. if the crusade is on silves but its actual target is cordoba then the crusade goes on until silves is captured meaning all the bonuses are still in place. and thats just wrong. so either any city is a target city now and anything is crusadable/ jihadable then or we are simply sticking to the original concept of crusades/ jihads only being called on the original target cities. as i said all the targets in the holy land are up again anyway as soon as im out of church and given that the crusaders got no such instrument themselves in this game it s just a fair thing that the holy land is save until im out of church. and all the muslim target cities are up from the beginning anyway. so why calling it on another city in the first place like silves if cordoba is the target. calling the crusade on one city and marching on another city having all the bonuses still going until the city the crusade had been actually called on is take is just wrong and fails the game

Password si not cleared :/
Nightbringer 03:08 08-30-2011
Well, it is not possible to call one on Cordoba, so if we want to have any chance in that area it seems only fair that we can call one on a nearby city in my opinion.
I'll clear the PW tonight, unless ser Monkey can beat me to the punch. Now, crusading/jihading against the target cities only is great, but in practice the game has it's own mind on what is crusadeable and jihadable. Out of all our target cities I think only two in Egypt and Jerusalem are allowed. Check the Jihad screen, I think you'll find a similar problem.
We can make the rule as such - call the crusade/jihad on the nearest possible allowed city and immediately end it as soon as the actual taret defined by the rules falls. This will limit the abuse while allowing us to play without me having to read a ton of info on how to mod the correct cities in. (It requires a hidden resource in each region plus a bunch of other stuff)

Password for Seljuks sent by PM.
And about that Crusade. Come get some!!

Bring lots of body bags with you.
Eh, you should have waited on that. I know Visorslash's PW as well, I just wanted to resest the PW so CROPrasec could input his own. Also, sharing other people's PWs is generally not good practice, as the majority use the same one for multiple games.

Yes, I didn't know YOU had one of our team member's password.

Next turn please clear it and resend it then.
Of course I do, I'm the bloody admin for this game :D Seeing as how Monkey insisted I run it.

Actually you don't need any of the pws if you're the admin...that is unless you forgot to enable the console like I did in FN

Plus, I don't remember giving you, Myth, my password.
He knows it from FN. I can't be bothered to change it. :P
Aye. When simple subbing was necessary I just sent it over to the guy subbing. Changing it also somewhat of a hassle if you know the player is coming back. But I suppose it's good practice to do so regardless.

The last guy playing Leon also claimed that he killed my Caliph. He was proven wrong. At the end of my last turn, my original starting Caliph was so far away from your armies you could have only reached him with Crusade movement points. And since he was nowhere near the Crusade target if you attacked him with a Crusade army you broke a rule. Post some screenshots of the battle.
Now back to the original Crusade/jihad question. Most of the jihad callable cities are Crusader State controlled. In fact only Toledo is on the list of cities that is controlled by the Catholic players. When Egypt is eliminated most of the cities that can be crusaded will be under Muslim control. This gives a tremendous advantage to the Catholic side. The banning of Crusades/Jihads should be implemented and the already called Crusade abandoned.

I support this :)
EDIT: Silvershield you entered Moors instead of Kwarz in the .rar file name :P
Btw, should I wait for thanatos eclipse's SS or play my turn?
Thanatos Eclipse 15:46 09-05-2011
I did use a crusading army, but I didn't see anything in the rules that limited what you could attack, only where you could call it (which has been changed)
personnally I don't care one way or the other, I'm just kind of annoyed right now at how slow the recruitment is in this version of ss :(

This rule is ambiguous at best. But I read it as meaning you can't attack any cities or armies other than the target
unless they are in the way. You would have had to go out of your way to attack that army. As it was S/SE of Valencia how was it on the route from Leon territory to Silves?
Thanatos Eclipse 23:16 09-05-2011
There's the trouble, I don't see that at all. All I get for that rule is that it pertains to what settlements crusade/jihads can be called on. Seems like these crusade rules really need to be ironed out before we get any further into this game, or just completely cut.
Nightbringer 09:37 09-06-2011
I think at this point it might be good to just cut them. They were a good idea but has frankly just caused so much trouble already that it doesn't seem worth it. It just is not a balanced mechanic, nor is it meant to be I suspect. (not that Myth meant it to be unbalanced, that CA meant for it to be unbalanced.)
