Default Clash of Gods IC/Diplomacy thread

    OOC thread.
    Recruitment thread.

This is the in character thread for Clash of Gods. Do your IC discussions and diplomacy here, though the game does start with pre-made teams and there is no much room for wiggling around that. You can boast with your Heroic Victories and issue IC threads though

This will also double as a story thread, should you feel the need for some IC writing!

The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

    These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

The English diplomat walks in. A middle-aged man with grey sneaking in his sideburns and hard, blue eyes. He carries no weapon though his posture is more that of a warrior than a scribe.

"Sir James Rigney at your service, honorable allies and foes."

"And why not?" the English diplomat answers in fluent Parisian dialect. "William was, after all, Duc de Normandie, and we are not the least likely of allies."

A short, portly man dressed in the latest of Venetian fashion strolls nonchalantly, into the council room.. He is chewing vigorously on a stick of licorice root and holds a bottle of fine Venetian wine in his other hand. He pauses for a moment to examine the two other diplomats in the room before finding the largest most cushioned chair in the room and plopping down into it.

Well, it seems some of my fellow Christians have made it here before me. I had hoped we could all be good friends but the Frenchmen seems to bear some hostility towards his brother.
    Here,
the Venetian diplomat uncorked the wine and slides it across the table towards the Frenchmen
some good wine ought to settle you down a bit.

Now, I believe we are just waiting on the Spaniard yes? Then we can begin ours plans to open up the Holy Lands for the West.

A tall man with flowing black hair and a short black mustache dressed in simple clothes enters the council room. Looking straight at the other diplomats, hand on the pommel of his rapier:

"Hello, I am Don Inigo Montoya. You'll have to excuse me for my late arrival, I was at my father's funeral you understand. Those damnable Moors have killed him! I hope they are prepared for what is to come!"

Cool Re: Clash of Gods IC/Diplomacy thread

Reading a missive from the frontlines, the Spaniard exclaims:

"Ay! I hear that el Duque de la Mancha, don Gonçalo Quijada, has killed his first Caliph! I hope he was prepared to die!

The idiot crossed the Rio Guadiana with his troops and was met by strong Toledo steel. He tried to run, but was captured and executed with the bastards that followed him!"

The Englishman clapped his hands and poured himself a goblet of wine. "Excellent news! We have killed two or... *murmurs and looks at his notes* hmm.. maybe three so called Kings of Scotland. But the blood of dirty, heathen Moorish dogs always does justice to a good sword!"
