Concentric Circles

Ladies and gentlemen prepare to watch this thread plummit like a lead lined chicken being thrown from a plane but heck here goes!

Does anyone have any nice images of the concentric circles which frequently adorn La Téne era artefacts? The type I mean are represented on the shields of several EB units like the Brihentin, Leuce Epos, Aedui Casse & Eleutheroi Iaosatae, Remi Mairepos, Eleutheroi Bagaudas, Eleutheroi and Casse Gaeroas.

I am trying to produce my own versions but so far am not happy with the results (its part of my ongoing project of being tattood in La Téne style patterns so I don't want to cover myself in patterns I do not feel are historically accurate) and thus am looking for more original sourcework to work from.

I don't fully understand what you are referring to by concentric circles, I've seen mistletoe or S motifs, but circles I'm lost sorry...

I already have Kruta's book and athough it does have a few photographs of the type of pattern I am looking for I would still like a few more examples. Perhaps I am being a bit cryptic by using the phrase concentric circles, roundels would be another way of decribing these patterns.

Here are the shields from three EB units which have the sort of pattern I mean, circles within circles:

In defence alot of people in the org do not speak English as a first language so it could be a confusing term, escpecially for those who do not speak an Indo-European language.

I've had a quick scan through what books I have, and haven't been able to find anything that closely matches what you're talking about.
Plenty of La Tene designs that have concentric circles but not on their own, rather as part of a more complex design.

Of course, the EB team have access to material I don't and it's such a simple design that I would expect it to turn up everywhere.

The clearest examples that I did find were in fact Germanic/Nordic. A beautiful spearhead found at Vimose in Denmark (5th century AD) on p16 of my copy of Seamus Hearney's translation of Beowulf. (can't find a google picture sorry) has concentric circles inlaid with silver on the black iron of the spear blades.

Thank you for your help! I might drop a message to one of the Celt-orientated team members. My plan is to start with concentric circles at the tops of my arms and then work out with La Téne artwork until my elbows.

I don't think there is, I just thought concentric circles sounded more academic.

Does anyone know which team members are responsible for the Gallic factions? I know oudysseos is the man to ask for the Britons.

it was related to the crop circles! the celts have alien contact! THE CELTS HAVE ALIEN CONTACT!!!
