I would like to remove the strait of Messana, and make Sicily an island.
Can anyone please explain how to do this, given that it is possible.
Many thanks!

edit the map_heights and map_regions, make sicily more separated from italy, and oh, make sure the climate maps also being properly adjusted.
and delete the map.RWM before use, and make backup since map editing is wall-banging possible experience

That's a lot of work, not to mention i prolly don't have the tools to edit the climate maps and all that...
Is there a way to make the recquired distance between landmasses smaller?
There's already a sea bridge allowing you to cross your troops over? Unless you want it attached so enemy fleets cant get through?
We love you because you died and resurrected to save us...

I want Sicily to be an island. And i want an easy way to do that. I read there is a set maximum distance coasts can be separated from each other by sea, while remaining "crossable"... If this is the case: is it possible to decrease that maximum, so that islands like Sicily, and Euboea are true in-game islands?
Perhaps i'm mistaking the norm the EB team set for making crossable straits with an in-game-mechanic?
The crossable strait of Messana is a game mechanic. it's meant to represent the units essentially using local vessels to go a short distance. a battle fleet isn't necessary to cross minor straits, but is still a gap of water that needs to be crossed. this is just an abstraction of that
