Default The importance of one's capital?

It's clear that one's capital is important as a focus of trade, and the place where any new generals, award units, or recuperated units appear.

Does it have any usefulness past that?
    • If your capital falls (or an enemy's), is it immediately replaced by some other province, no problem? (except perhaps with trade connections)
    • Does it make any difference if you park your (aging, high-level) daimyo there?
Thanks if you can help! - RK

AFAIK, if your capitals falls it is replaced by another province without any problem except of course the trade connections.

And parking your daimyo in the capital doesn't make any difference, that's what I've noticed, nothing special.

What about the double recruitment of the capital? Does that move to the new one?

Everything moves to your new capital.

Is there a way to choose which province becomes your new capital?

    Yes spicy,

    Have only one other province

Seriously... I wouldn't know. I've never lost mine.

    Can anyone else help?

I suppose one can watch what happens to AIs as you take their provinces, to see if there's a pattern... are new generals showing up, and trade focus, the main way to see what's an AIs capital?

No, I lost my capital for a turn as I played for the Takeda, it switched to Echigo for some reason.

Losing your trade routes when losing your capital can be a real bugger sometimes. Trying to reestablish those trade agreements can be very difficult and costly especially on harder levels, not to mention losing residual income due to those long term trade agreements.

You can use a metsuke to check which is a capital, the bribe text will say you can't bribe a capital :D
