Never would I do a simple a=1, b = 2 cipher. This isn't 3rd grade. But neither would I need cryptographic hash functions either. I highly doubt any of you are experts in cryptanalysis working for the NSA. This does the job. And townies and even Jotun needn't concern themselves with it.
