Whats the Best Video Game you have ever played? (including consoles)
The best game I have ever played is Mario, ah, how i love that game, simply amazing.

Sword of the Samurai without a doubt.
Silence is beautiful
The Way of the Exploding Fist.
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Difficult.
I have more:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Tales of Symphonia
Super Mario: Sunshine
Pokemon Crystal
Team Fortress 2
Rome: Total War
Fire Emblem 7
Golden Sun
no ones said this one yet i am surprised.....
Age of Empires 2
Shogun 2,Age of Empires 2.NTW,AC2.
FIFA Soccer Manager 97.
Nothing will ever beat it. Ever.![]()
At the end of the day politics is just trash compared to the Gospel.
What was that footy game on the PS1? Fifa 96 I think. The one where John Motsons' voice said "He couldn't hit the backside of a cow with a banjo". Fatboy Slims' 'Funk Soul Brothers' was the tune IIRC.
Now that was a great game.

This really belongs in the Arena.
The best game I played was Mass Effect 2.

I think you really have to break it down into genres, since there's really no way to compare Mario to Doom to Age of Empires, etc. But overall, I don't think I've ever been more immersed in any game than in Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. Ultima Underworld was absolutely amazing, too, but I played it a decade after it came out, so it was harder to appreciate.
This topic is a grey area in my opinion. The Frontroom is for casual conversation, this just happens to be about video games. I think it should stay. This really belongs in the Arena.
Silence is beautiful
I have to add an honourable mention to Space Invaders*, the first ever video game I played that didn't have the 'Binatone' label on it.

i agree i only said aoe2 cause it has to be on the list!!!!!!
also i would put rtw, morrowind, and actually mount and blade warband on my favorites list also.
Add Morrowind.
AoE2 was fun, but overrated imo.
DEAD OR ALIVE BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Baby Quit Your Cryin' Put Your Clown Britches On!!!
Being a gamer for over 20 years, I have a very hard time answering with only just one title, so I will name the best that pop to my mind...
Fallout 2. Best RPG game I've ever played.
Master of Orion 2. It ruled in the olden days of 4X games.
Medieval Total War. Probably the most time I've spent playing a strategy game.
TIE Fighter. Most fun "piloting" game. The honorable days of service under glorious Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Call of Duty. The first, legendary one. Played with my friends in a clan, we've been in the top three CoD clans in Europe, won the first place once, came second in two other chamiponships. Oh, the frags...
Starcraft. Best base building RTS ever.
Sometimes I think I'd pay top dollar, per hour, just to enjoy myself in the games like I used to, a long while ago...
It's really hard to answer with one title if you've played A LOT of games... I'll try to narrow it down by naming some of a few genres...
JRPG: Well, Final Fantasy VII and VIII are, imo, the best of the series and also the best JRPGs I played, I have to admit thought that that's probably the genre I know the least about
Western RPG: Morrowing comes to mind but also Baldur's Gate I + II
RTS: The already mentioned AoE 2 and Starcraft/Warcraft
TBS: Civilization II... of course it feels outdated today but I don't think I've spent more time with any game (except maybe WoW as I have to admit, shamefully) - of more modern times I think Civ V did a lot of things very well
The totalwar series as a kind of hybrid... I liked RTW the best
FPS: the already mentioned original CoD but also the original Half Life, a bit surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet
But overall, what is the game I had the most fun with? I think back in the day it was Civ 2 otherwise it had not captured me for so long, so my price goes to that game :)
Rome: Total War![]()
Thief: The Dark Project. So incredibly awesome. The feeling of 'being there' is unmatched. You can almost smell the city, you can almost touch the walls. So immersive..
Moved to the Arena, seems more appropriate.
I remember that game with extremely fond memories; it wasn't the first time I'd played a Fifa game (that would be '95 on the Mega Drive, didn't like it), but '98 was the one I can recall the most about.
Blur's Song 2, Djorkaeff and Shearer being the best players in the game, playing on an indoor pitch, tackles that make the Shawcross-Ramsey collision look like a pillow fight, soundly defeating most of the boys in my year... some fun times that have made me a firm fan of the series and a bane to potential partners who hate losing.
Haha, that was actually Fifa '99! I loved Motty's commentary, he was infinitely better than Andy "TEK A BU SUN" Gray, thank God he's not going to be in '12. :P
"Blacker than a moonless night. Hotter and more bitter than Hell itself… that is coffee."
This is another good one.
Sorry for the mild pixely violence in it. The game is somewhat dated so I thought it ok.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Silence is beautiful
Unreal Tournament - First PC game I ever played. I'd sneak down to the computer when my parents weren't home, or were asleep, and play for hours. They didn't want my young mind playing something so violent, they said. Well, the blue flag wasn't going to cap itself. 11 years old and sniping with the best of them.
Tribes 2 - buggy, unstable, and the most fun I ever had online until TF2 came out years later. The first "community" shooter I ever took part in. Did the whole ladder scene with a group of friends for a year. Eventually the game and community died off as other stuff came out, team started drifting apart. We went our seperate ways, but I got a lot of good memories tied up in that game.
Diablo 2 - The first PC game I ever bought with my own earned money, and until recently was the best dungeon crawler ever made imo, surpassed only by Torchlight. And maybe Guild Wars if that counts - but for its time there was just nothing even close. Absolutely loved it from start to finish, and spent hours grinding back gold just to waste it all again on another gambled item. Just one more, I know the next one's a winner. Has to be!
Got the expansion but I never finished it.. even after all this time I still don't know how it ends.
Civilization 4. Sank more hours into that game than anything else. Even my beloved Baldur's Gate series can't hold a candle to the sheer perfection that is Civ 4 (fully patched and with both expansion packs).
Console Game: Parasite Eve II. Beautifully simplistic, excellent story line, and unique character development.
PC Game: Baldur's Gate...fully patched, BGT, Tactics, Banter Pak, and a whole host of other mods attached. Simply THE best RPG game ever made....
High Plains Drifter
XCOM-- I think this was the game that started my love for gaming.
MLB 2k9
Of course , it's Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, you heretics!
And EB for best mod.
