    Default Install Time

What is the average install time for this game? I bought the limited version, because I came across it in the store, and the install estimate varies between one and two days.

Anyone else experienced this? Is this what computer games are like now?

My cable modem is quite good and I've never had a 18.7 GB download.

18.7 GB is a very large download. That said, Steam has been very, very slow for the past couple of days. I think their servers are overloaded due to vastly increased downloading as a result of their summer sale. I usually d/l from steam at 3mb/s, but Steam downloads over the past two days have varied from 100k to 800k, with regular periods of pausing due to server overload.

    Thank you.

Well then, this is my introduction to Steam.

I installed S2TW last wednesday. It took from 18h00 until 00h30 I believe.
    Just be patient.

Patient? I bought a hard copy to avoid crazy download times.

That sounds like one of two things:
    1. It's patching the game post-install, and it's taking ages because of the overloaded servers. Seems like quite a drastic time, though.

    2. It's not installing from the CD. It's decided to download the entire game and ignore the CD. Steam does that sometimes; I've experienced it a few times and it's a complete pain in the behind. Steam should report "installing from CD ..." on the grey dialogue box, and if it's not then this is probably what's wrong. It can be fixed. Try this.

Ahh, thank you. I think it's ignoring the CD. It should be finished just as I get back from work.

How incredibly annoying is the camera control? You move to the edge of the screen...wait...wait...then it moves.

Is there any way to avoid this delay? This is on the campaign map.

I use the wsad keys to move the camera; they're set up by default so you don't need to bind them. It's been like this since ETW. Can't say I'm a fan of it.

Thanks. I complained alot about the setup in DAO. Still haven't felt comfortable with it. Maybe I'm just a lazy gamer.

Maybe, today, I'll finally start the game. I finished the tutorials last night and the battle controls seemed a little awkward. :-/ I'll have to play around with the control options.
