Yaropolk decided it was time to stop taking chances. No more night time strolls down the streets, no sir. After his narrow escape, he holed himself up in his accommodations. Even hearing a polite knock on the door, Yaropolk shook his head violently, and stayed in his corner. A second round of knocks came, a bit more forceful this time. Still, he stayed put. Maybe twenty seconds later, a faint light shone through the bottom of the door. The door shifted colors, from dark brown to a pale yellow. A similarly colored mist began seeping into the room, blocking the door frame from view. Yaropolk heard footsteps. A oddly foreign man stepped into the room, dressed in a glittering, dark green robe, with a dark moustache and beard hanging from his chin. He looked quite calm, and did not seem armed. He held a hand out to Yaropolk. Yaropolk reached up for it. A longsword materialized in the man's hand, and he whipped it around on Yaropolk's outstretched arm. To his credit, Yaropolk managed to recoil quickly enough to only be nicked. The man in green brought the sword down with his right hand. Yaropolk just managed to roll out of the way, and began to break for the mist. He made a lunge for where he assumed the door would be. In midair, he saw, as though time slowed down, the man in green effortlessly made the turn and brought the sword down straight into his path. He closed his eyes, cringing for the coming blow....

It was not the blow he expected. He fell to the ground awkwardly, where the door used to be. He scrambled up, to witness that his heroine had once more intercepted a blow. Her spear had glanced against the man in green's sword, deflecting its path. She now stood just inside the door frame, separating the attacker from victim. She lowered her stance, keeping her shield held across in a defensive stance. The attacker's pleasant face hardened visibly. He held his left hand to the sword's hilt. As the two fighters stared each other down, Yaropolk made a break for it down the street. The man in green sighed. He closed his eyes, and with a faint pop, he vanished.

Zack scratched his head. He wasn't really sure how he'd ended up out here. He found himself out near the crimson barrier, west of the palace. He shrugged. There had to be some place to settle for the night. He turned around, back to the dark street. In the distance, he could make out a figure walking his direction. It looked like... a human. A comically humongous human, wielding an equally comic axe, which may have been four times the size of a normal war axe. For a human, he seemed to make his way down the street with such a monster well. He picked up at a sprint towards Zack, who raised an eyebrow in alarm. Zack jumped back as the axe came down in front of him. The head crunched into the street. Zack was already on a sprint past the man. The man wheeled about, giving chase. Zack took a hard right into an alley, just avoiding a second chance at being cleaved. The man gave chase down the alley, but the it twisted like a gnarled branch in several directions, with Zack nowhere to be seen.

A very relaxed Reenk Roink was sitting in the middle of the one room shack he'd been assigned. If the time was come, the time was come, was his rational. He had not even locked his door. In the meanwhile, he figured, he would enjoy a drink or two. The knob to his door twisted, and Reenk did not look perturbed when a woman in bronze scale covered with a purple, satin dress entered through the frame, a saber in her right hand.

“Hello, m'lady,” Reenk said. He held up his cup. “Would you like a drink?”

“I think not, peasant. All I want tonight is your head.”

“Aww. That's a shame. Please, I insist.” Reenk reached over, and yanked on a rope laying to his right. The woman looked surprised for a second, following the path of tension of the rope mentally. Tugged rope leading to pully at base of the door on her left, going straight up to another pully at the top side of the frame, leading to another pully halfway across the frame, leading to a bucket which tipped over. And so came a downpour of drink, similar to that which Reenk held in his hand, drenching the woman.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!!!” She howled in rage, while Reenk howled in laughter, and in an instant, she held her saber across his neck, and separated his head from the rest of him without hesitation. She stormed from the house in a rage, grasping the dress with clenched fingers.

A woman stood at the door to a dark house. She knocked softly. The door was cracked open, and the inhabitant peered out. The person's eyes widen at the scantily clad figure before them.

“Please, my lovely... will you let me in?” The door opened a bit more, and the inhabitant ushered her in. Her way clear, she aggressively walked up to her host. “My lovely,” she whispered, stretching a finger across their chest. “Offer me support, and I will reward you beyond your imagination. Gifts of lapis lazuli, a golden chariot, steeds the envy of the world. She turned her head slightly, showing off her lengthy, raven hair. “Well, my dear?” An eager nod greeted her question, and she allowed herself to be led further into the house for the night....

    IT IS NOW DAY PHASE.

I'm going to come out and say up front, that I'm a vanilla townie, and I suspect God Emperor was also one.

Therefore, it seems clear that the big guy with the axe is incompetent when it comes to killing people.

Or, seeing how Yarapolk also survived, perhaps there is a mechanic involved which gives an x% chance of surviving night attacks.

Yaropolk was protected by his guardian angel yet again. I can't believe someone actually took another shot at him. It also seemed seemed to be a so far unseen attacker. One of the angels also didn't attack anyone, although that could be the person who seemingly recruited someone. I'm starting to feel glad to be dead.

I love how many people in this game are literally cheering the mafia on because of how the night 1 kills worked out. I couldn't have written a funnier start.

Considering that saying so will likely result in a scan of you, and that there was no one else mentioned in the write up, you're probably right, unless there's a hidden special ability some vanilla townies have that lets them survive a nightkill (which seems pretty damn unlikely). But like you said, it could be a percentage too.

What's most likely is that every night killer has a different chance to kill, considering the size of the game.

Of course, Yaro was protected, so this might all be moot and it's only JRPG Ax that has the chance of failure.

Yes, I don't think the Mafia has a percentage chance to kill. We never saw their kills fail like the guy with the axe. We only saw them protected against, tow times, both on Yaropolk.

The green man who attacked him is a new killer so it seems like one of the AFK Mafia returned while the pearly lady took a break this round. Someone suggested to me that the Mafia team might be limited to two kills per night even though their team consists of more members. I dismissed the idea at first because it wasn't like that in Netherworld 1 + 2 but last night's events suggest this might actually be the case.

The saber lady is back again, making another kill. Our only regular to have killed in all nights.

The axe guy is back again and he fails again. This is either a role that cannot kill for a while but has to get in a series of failed attempts to unlock new powers or it's what everyone suggested and there's a percentage chance for them to kill. Poor unlucky soul. The attempt tonight gives G_E's claims credibility but what can you do.

What. That was exactly how it worked in Netherworld II.

Either someone got converted by a cult, or someone's vote was bought for the day.

Possible, but too soon to jump to conclusions. With only two incidents witnessed so far, coming to conclusions would be hasty. Moreover, even if there were %chances of killing by default, and you happened to survive (if you were a basic townie), what's stopping GE (as scum) from having an even higher chance of surviving?

I would frankly be kinda shocked at his scummy behavior yesterday, and would be surprised if the numerous inconsistencies and attempted subtle nudging in different directions was due to a panicked townie trying to survive.

Also there's two possible ways to interpret the write up in my opinion. One, that you evaded death out of your own skill (which most certainly doesn't clear you), or two, that the killer simply failed, due to whatever reason, which doesn't really tell us much.

In any case, its just simply too soon to arrive at a conclusion.

Yep, that's true, I had time to think about that.

Now I have a few questions for you, Believer:

    1) Why have you even contacted me in private? We never really talked in private before this game, even when we were king and champion in Midgard we didn't have much contact. Now, at the beginning of this game, you asked me for my IM and contacted me to be able to pass some information by the other players which was suspicios to me in and of itself. Why? Why the sudden need to talk to me?

    2) Your vote on Arjos on D1.

How scummy can one get without being lynched? You're pushing the limits bro.
At this point, iirc, Arjos was in the lead by 2 and you came in placing your vote. I was not in real danger anymore until maybe the end of the round where there were a few votes bein placed on me again but at the point of your vote you could not know this would happen. Yet you made an effort, privately, to point out to me that you saved me and expected me to make good use of it.

    3) On D2 you go with a joke vote, referring to a joke vote by someone else.

Why? I understand the sentiment of pressuring other people than the leading wagon on GE if the wagon is far in the lead already but why go for a joke vote that accomplishes exactly nothing?

    4) You seem more silent to me than in Music Mafa, that's a weak point though as I don't really know your usual playstyle yet.

    5) This point ties right in with points 1) and 2). You starte rolefishing to me yesterday, pressuring me to reveal my ability to you. When I told you, truthfully, that I did not have any ability you called me a liar and proclaimed that you'd vote for me today. Fair enough if your vote were based on anything but your personal feeling that I was lying but, as I stated yesterday, I don't buy your claim that you don't believe me. What I think is you tried to flatter me and "get me to your side" because for scum it's always good to have town supporters. When you realised this wouldn't work out you just decided to turn on me but please tell me now, what is the case on me? I'd surely be interested in seeing that.

    6) I'd like to know if Renata told you that I asked Yaropolk to let a scanner take a look at you. I wonder why the pearly lady didn't show up last night.

I had contact with ATPG in the Midgard game where you were my champion. ATPG revealed early to me that he thought one of the champions would be Jotun, based on his game mechanics knowledge and hosting knowledge. I believed him and for most of the time saw you as the scummiest, you were very close to be voted off on several occasions.
As to why I asked for your IM this game it was for 2 reasons.

    1. I wanted to pressure you because I think you're behaving oddly.

    2. I was bored, ATPG isn't online much at all these days which leaves only Renata I talk to quite frequently. I need more stimulus if I'm to play mafia. Also I enjoy speaking german from time to time.

This I feel is almost the same point, so I'll address them together.
GE "won" that day's lynch by about... 13 votes? A joke vote is as good as anything, regardless of the reason I give it's still a vote and pressure is being applied if it's anywhere close to the lead.

As Renata pointed out to me privately yesterday; I started my first game on the .Org as a doubtless townie (or genious mafia, but that wasn't the case) and have only grown to be more scummy. I don't know if it's my playstyle that has changed or if it's her perception of my playstyle but to this day I have never been mafia, so you can't really say it's my Modus Operandi.

I do not believe that you are town, and if you are you have put yourself at some serious disadvantage from our conversation yesterday.

    1. You told me that I shouldn't trust anyone else unless I trust you. That's saying I shouldn't network at all and if I do I should only do it with you, atleast start with you. Why are you so concerned that I don't talk to other people?

    2. You were reluctant to answer questions about what you think of other people.

    3. You don't trust Yaropolk, even though he is the most confirmed townie right now.

Nope. I don't understand why you would even take the risk of telling her, even though she did not reveal that information to me. I'm curious as to why you did it though.

This is the first real pressure you're taking in this game and you're making a case on the guy who's accusing you, serious OMGUS going on at the same time you're just putting yourself in a deeper hole.
