Default Mass Effect 3 Preview screens

PC Gamer article on Mass Effect 3 screens (spoiler tag due to a few minor spoilers, but also size of images):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I didn't think PC Gamer could write worse image captions...guess I was wrong.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Its official. Cerberus works for Reapers. Here's my hoping turning Cerberus into a better "behind-the-scenes human protection force" going down the drain. Then again, I seriously hope I get to kill the Illusive Man in some horrible fashion...either thrown in a varren pit or given to batarians for their enjoyment.

How the hell did I write Cerberus works for Bioware first... :S

Great article. I love the quip about rommances in ME3, if you cheated on someone in ME2, it bites you back in ME3 with "the end of the world", heh heh. Makes me wish I still had ME1 and 2 so to gear up for ME3. I like that they're keeping the loyalty quests but instead of being about one person, it effects whole faction so to speak, it really makes you feeling like your dealing with something much larger than yourself.

I actually deleted my very first savegame in ME1 where I romanced Ashley. In every subsequent ME1 playthrough I stayed away from her, because I really did not like her personality compared to Liara. Note, I have two playthroughs where I did not romance anyone in ME1.
Although playing through ME1 again for an Ashley romance save for ME3 and on a sidenote, I agree with what Monk said in another thread...the combat is boring now in ME1.

I really hope you can talk your way into a threesome if you have enough speech or paragon/renegade points.

Well....PC Gamer people aren't very active then.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I seem to remember that teh interwebz were rife with reports of Ashley having a new model for ME3 where she let her hair down. Some artists at DeviantArt actually created drawings, imagining how she'd look.

Anyway...up till now, it does seem that the story and the scale of things is going to be really huge.

Forget squadmate squabbles. Shepard is going on to solve species squabbles.

    @Krusader

You know you can just download an ME1 savegame....
There is a website...I cannot remember the exact link...should come if you Google it...it has this huge number of savegames from ME1 and ME2....with the various decisions all listed.

ME2 was very tame. The best it's ever been done IMO was in the first game. It was...tasteful.

Well its something the "romance subculture people" over at Bioware forums want. Man, some of those guys are creepy though.
Like this guy who theorized that Quarian sweat, if licked can be an aphrodisiac. Seriously, there are some people who are too into the romance bit and seems way too much focused on that aspect in Mass Effect games.
Why not make a Leisure Suit Asari spinoff game after ME3? That’s what alot of people seem more interested in and it’s starting to feel like Mass Effect is becoming a weird sort of furrie fandom derivative.

As for Romance, Mass Effect 1 did it way better, but Bioware's best romance was in KOTOR1. Otherwise they have never been THAT good at it IMO.

It's amazing how video game romance make people shed their inhibitions and talk about really personal stuff....

KOTOR romance (I'm referring to Bastila, not the whine-whine-boy) was, well, too ideal....I still cringe whenever I replay the last dialogue between Revan and Bastila aboard the Starforge.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    • Bastila Shan: First there is something I must know. Do I have a place in your future? Do you love me?
    • Revan: I do love you.
    • Bastila Shan: I love you too. With all of my heart.
    • Revan: You're not afraid to love anymore?
    • Bastila Shan: After this? No. Nothing makes me feel more safe than to be loved by you

Hey, I cried when I saw that scene for the first time. Don't be disrespecting my Revan-Bastila romance.

Then again I cried when I saw the ending of Halo 3 and saw the Master Chief stranded in the middle of nowhere getting back in his cryo chamber.

I also cried when Smoke died in GTA:SA.

And when I threw companion cube into the incinerator.

    Maybe I have a problem.

Have you check out the scene where Dom finds Maria in GoW2 yet?

    Edit:

I read a blog recently about how more and more people were beginning to like some features of RPG games like leveling up, without actually liking RPG games in themselves. For instance good shooting mechanics with skill trees and that kind of stuff. That is what made ME2 a success. And that is what made Alpha Protocol, which in my opinion was very good game, a failure. So if someone can successfully combine the genres, like a good FPS game with not-too-watered- down RPG features, they'll hit a goldmine....and I am almost certain that ME3 will do just that.

I would have included it but I couldn't find it. Kotaku had it, but it was on their own webplayer that doesn't embed. Thanks for catching it.

It actually seems to be shaping up quite nicely thus far and my fears seem pretty unfounded. Since i'm one of the people who loved ME2 combat, ME3 combat just looks like the next obvious evolution.

Also: Omnisword = day one buy.

The Omnisword looks amazing, though I have to wonder about some of the catchphrases they use, that they need to save Earth...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
...even though in spoils they said that Earth was already lost. They should be saying that they need to save the galaxy, not Earth.

    Pure speculation though.

So we can gather that Cerberus are trying to obtain the reaper tech for themselves? Interesting..

Kind of a given after ME2 mind.
