PS3 racing game

Hello, I've been thinking about getting a racing game for the Ps3 but haven't finally decided on a game or whether I'll get one at all.
So far I've been thinking either Gran Turismo 5 or SHIFT 2, but I wonder which one is better, what the advantages are and whether other racing games are fun as well, those two are also among the most expensive ones I've seen.

Are there any other worthy contenders? Completely fictional fun racers are out for now, was thinking NfS Hot Pursuit might be okay if it's not too arcadey. On the other hand I wouldn't want a "study sim" either, something that is fun but relatively realistic.

Any opinions, ideas, nominations?
