    Default Gameroom-oriented Forum Style

A new forum style is now available for use. It is called Morbid and can be found with the style browser in the bottom left hand corner of any forum page, or by clicking here. This style is mainly designed for patrons of the Gameroom, since there are a fair number of you now who have never been Total War fans and are only here for the totally awesome mafia games.

This style emphasizes clean lines and simple readability, so you no longer have as much of an excuse to avoid ATPG's Wall-O-Text(TM) posts. Give it a try and let us know what you think. If you notice any bugs, or things that look odd or are hard to use, please post in this thread so we can get them fixed.

Custom icons have been included with this style to give it some flavor. The ammo was used because of the number of mafia games that go on back here, plus I just thought they looked cool. The forum icons should be relatively self-explanatory, but the thread icons might not be completely intuitive, so I shall give a brief rundown of what they mean just in case.

Looks good. Will test it for a day at least.

I like it, though I'm not sure how it's supposed to enhance readability. But I can comprehend the thread icons a lot better than the Shogun ones I was using. Thank you!

Well, just clear text on a clear background, without a lot of clashing colors to distract the eye. I'm a bit anal though, so maybe that's just me.

Looks good, but I've grown too attached to the brown theme ("TheGuild" is the theme name).

Looks great, I'm not sure I want to use it but I'm sure there are people who will. It's great you keep up the work to make the site even better..!

I think I'll pretend I never saw this so I can keep using the STW as an excuse for not reading any of Pizza's posts.

Question for anyone who is using it: Should I switch the font color to pure black? At the moment it's a dark gray, which makes 'bolding' a bit less bold than I would prefer.

Examples (if you are viewing with the Morbid skin):

    Default Morbid Bold: BOLD
    Proper Black Bold: BOLD

Default Morbid Text: I like milkshakes.
    Black Text: I like milkshakes.

Yep, switch the font. Looks much better with pure black.

Agreed with JHT, it's something I've been wondering about, for example in the reveals of A country for old men, I used dark grey to indicate neutral (well... it also said the word "neutral" just the color was to make it more... pretty ^^) and since everything was grey it didn'T stick out anymore.

I'd prefer black as standard font colour

I like it, it even has a nice banner to it as well.

I've swapped all the fonts over to black, and I do think it's better this way. If there's anything else you think should be tweaked to look nicer or to make it easier to read, please do post it.

I actually can't see any difference in the two-color example you posted above. Hmm...

You can't anymore, because he already swapped the font color to black now

Any way we could have variants on this style?

Example: "The Guild" color but with the same "morbid" icons?
    Black?
    Teal?
    Green?
    Tan?
    Etc.

I like the icons but not the light gray. Picky pizza, or idea man?

I like this idea since the icons are an improvement, but nothing could make me switch from the Guild skin. I just find the beige and brown colour so much easier to look at, all the others hurt my eyes after a few minutes.

    Oh god yes.

The Guild is the best skin because it allows me to read my own posts without vomiting.

I was actually planning on releasing two skins at once, one 'light' and one 'dark.' Morbid is the light one, but I wasn't entirely happy with how the dark one turned out because it seemed too difficult to read text. One major problem we have is that we use a mod to colorize usernames. It's super useful and I think a lot of people really like it. Unfortunately, it really restricts the color palates that can be used for skins because all of the different username colors have to be visible on the background. If they aren't, it looks like the NTW skin where it's extremely difficult to read many names.

That said, the Guild skin does indeed use a palate that seems to work well with all the username colors. I'll try and come up with a brown-hued skin that resembles it. I will not, however, modify the existing Guild skin, nor do I think it's worthwhile to make an identical Guild skin that just has different icons.

I would prefer something with a light blue in the back ground since that is very easy on my eyes. I only use the Morbid skin since the colours don't clash for the mods, which they do with the NTW skin. That is the one best for my eyes, but I have a hard time reading in that one since the colour clashes are very distinct in that skin.

I like this style, but coming to the org from a forum with a dark background, while sitting in a dark room can be very hard on the eyes.
