Default Shogun 2 is a theactrial experince

Shogun 2 is and excellent game both graphical and game play wise for me
it's almost just as good as watching movies like ran or the thirteen assassins
CA made excellent detail on the units and there almost human like movements I myself needed to fined good reasons too put the game down just to write this hole review well here it goes.

top reasons why shogun 2 is almost like watching a samurai movie

the graphics are excellent and atmospheric the water is realistic and

I like the grass and also I like how the battle Field is littered with the bodies of the fallen after the battle
It is pretty imerseve when it comes to the sword play during the battle since the units are mostion captured
so it's not like the robots of Rome total war

CA made attention to the AI which is based of sun tizus book the art of war

    I give the game10/10

Well, I have a brand new PC that can run the game on huge unit sizes and all graphics on ultra, so the game does look beautiful, no doubt about that. However, battles are so fast paced that the second I try to zoom in to watch some combat, half of the enemy army (or my army sometimes!) is in a rout and a lot of soldiers need to be given new commands. So I do that and zoom in again and 2 seconds later the battle is over, the field is littered with corpses and all is left to do is run down running enemies. This is the only time I really get to zoom in and appreciate the graphics.
EBII has finally released. All hail the EBII team!

You really need a stats mod that rebalances morale and kill speeds in order to enjoy this game to its absolute fullest. CA did an amazing ground work imo, but in its vanilla state the battles are just too fast. However, with the right mod and a PC capable of running at ultra? There are literally times I wish i could kick over to a "cinematic" mode and watch some of my battle replays from my couch. The game can really surprise you in its visual quality at times.

Definitely. I love the distance occlusion (think that's the name), where distant/unfocused objects appear blurry. Very cinematic!

That said I've been very wary of trying to watch any replays, seeing as all I've heard has been horror stories of people starting-up replays only to watch the computer fight a different battle for them. Lame.

That happens but more often then not the replay works fine. I think it has something to do with how the battle is actually fought and the way the orders are loaded. Sometimes if i fast forward in my replays, things will get messed up, for example. Though slo-mo doesnt seem to affect it.

Cross-version replays dont seem to keep the results together either. Loading replays from battles that you fought in a mod and then watching them without that mod installed, will cause huge problems.
