So as the title suggests, driving home from uni today I saw my first road rage incident. Allow me to paint the scene...
I was 2 cars back from the incident (so in a safe zone I guess). The road contained 4 lanes, 2 up and 2 down (↑↑↓↓). In the far most left lane, road works had closed the road ahead so cars from the left lane were turning into the right lane. Once road works had past they would turn back into the left lane, a pretty smooth standard system. A blue car from the left most lane turned into the right lane to avoid to roadworks, and where you would normally allow a car ahead of you to turn in, the driver (in a red car) either didn't see it or didnt allow the car in. Brakes were slammed and it was a near accident. I think a gesture was made from the red car which obviously annoyed the blue car ahead. So the blue car just sat on their brakes in the middle of the road holding up traffic to annoy the red car. Eventually after a 10-20 second stall, the blue car went ahead and traffic followed. After a while on the straight the red car decided to change lanes into the left lane (as roadworks had finished), as soon as they half turned into the lane the blue car swerved ridiculously fast into that lane forcing the red to swerve wide and nearly caused them to have an accident. The blue car then sped off and the red sped chasing it. I'm not sure what happened next from that point as my turn off came and I went home.
I know this story isn't as rage-y as some of you would have imagined but if I were in the red cars shoes I would have taken down the licence plate and called the police later in the day.
Anyone have any crazy road rage stories to share? Or what else would you have done as the red car?
