Updated players list to include 97 and a reserve! Outstanding. I am very hopeful that we'll have 100+.

I have been re-writing role sheets for clarity as well as creating the new stuff for this edition and editing to minimize mistakes. For those interested in the new formatting, I have replaced the townie rolesheet included in the rules section of the OP.

I have had a few questions regarding recruiting etc.

First: The Incorruptible Townie role has been dropped. It is now harder for Townies to follow the path of evil in order to encourage a majority to defend the town, but only a few "power" town roles are locked into serving the town without choice, just as only the starting mafiosi etc. are locked into an anti-town role. Capo is about the freedom of choice and the price you pay for those choices.

Second: How you recruit is largely up to you. The game is built around one member or more of your team scanning the status of another player and, based on that status, someone contacting them in order to recruit them. Nothing is certain in Capo, and that makes this part of the game absolutely crucial. If your townie sub-team or mafia family doesn't recruit, it will waste away or be culled, but if you do recruit you risk infiltration and betrayal. Of course, handling infiltrators is a science of its own....

The HOW of this recruitment has been quite varied. We have had discovered mafiosi posting openly in the thread for potential recruits to PM them prior to death so that they could be contacted; we've had Dons send PMs via people who weren't playing (Andres, then not a part of the Gameroom, was such a go-between once and he ended up the leading candidate for lynching one day for most of the voting, until the players belatedly realized that he wasn't in the game at all); the most common method is tentative PM exchanges or interactions via chat. Both mafia families and townie sub-teams have been infiltrated, sometimes simultaneously. Other teams formed tight trust bonds and went the whole way almost without a hiccup.

If you think that means that most of Capo happens "off screen" then you are quite correct. All part of the charm....

Once we have reached that total, subsequent players will be listed as reserves on a first come first served basis. Also, once we reach that level, players currently on the active list who would prefer to be reserves may so indicate to the host by PM, whereupon I will bump up the first name or names currently on the reserve list.

All starting roles are re-written, all traits written. I have to reformat some mafia rolesheets into the new format (rewritten, but not reformatted). Then I can get to the text for the opening and the like.

The official sign up period is now closed. Roles will be assigned and dispatched via PM. This will take some time.

I expect that, once I am far enough ahead of the curve, I will open up a thread for gameplay and begin things.

In the meantime, latecomers MAY still sign up, but roles will be assigned without (though to be fair, even latecomers sometimes get something juicey as it depends on total mix -- they just cannot start as a mafia don or luca (at least I haven't done that yet).
