My day one is likely to be dominated by my lamentations that I drew a mafia role, will be scanned N1, and that my family will be crippled by the end of day two.

Yeah, I don't want to hear it after what's happened to me in the last several games I've been mafia over here. If I draw a mafia role I will be packing myself off to Straight Dope land immediately and not even looking back, on the theory that any word I say will, within 2-4 game days, wind up being used against my poor unlucky teammates.

Alternatively, townies and most especially opposing bad guys could kindly keep their investigations, roleblocks, and the like in their pants for at least a few days and let me play half a game for once.
