Scumbags want to get scanned at this point if they're going to be lynched anyway.

Because, it means that someone will be scanned as scum, and they won't be able to get the shirt.... a townie won't be able to wield it.

it means we will have to guess who is townie, and it could land on a scum and we won't be able to trust the shirt's results for the remainder of the game.

That is worth sacrificing Monty for.

They need the chain to break, that is how they can still win the game. If we don't break the chain, we force a win.
