Unfortunately, that was not the case; though we've had the capability to restrict access for a few weeks now, this is the first instance that the tool has been used and we're still getting to grips with it. In the future, if one's access to a thread/subforum restricted, they'll be notified either via PM or as part of the warning/infraction process.
It's not something that we want to have to resort to, but the two-day ban wasn't really deterring people and we didn't want to just extend bans to a week or whatnot; one's misdemeanours in one subforum shouldn't prevent them from posting elsewhere, particularly when their behaviour in other areas of the Org might be exemplary.
This way, you might be prevented from posting in the Frontroom (for example), but you'd still be able to contribute elsewhere rather than an outright, forum-wide posting restriction due to an extended ban.
