That would require Partadox being able to make a decent game. Which they can't.

It would be tough to do it in such a way that didn't make the battles tiresome. In EU3, for instance, you can fight multiple large scale battles in a war in addition to dozens of 1/2 unit stack smashing. The other problem (at least with EU3 and Vicky) would be technological progress. You'd have to build either something very compromised to cover the entire historical range (like Medieval 2) or have multiple engines to cover the different technology levels.

There is no accounting for taste.

While amusing no doubt to yourself when you posted it, because you got a dig in on Lars (which he no doubt deserved because he just threw out a blanket statement trolling for responses), but I can assure you there are plenty of ppl who think Paradox can't tie their shoes when it comes to game design (who also have zero difficulty with long term strategy), so it's entirely possible they are a niche maker of games due to their own limitations, and not those of their potential players.![]()

Hehe, I doubt anyone who has bothered to play a Paradox Game has a "searing dislike" for them, but I do appreciate the use of the word, I like it. But it foists upon me an emotion I don't actually have towards their games. Muddled UI, bad AI, lack of clearly drawn consequences for ones actions, terrible manuals. These are all the same complaints everyone has, doubt there's much edification to be had from me rattling them off too, but there it is.
Oh, and to return this thread to its rightful owner, let me just add, I think 3d battles in Paradox games might be interesting as an option, but since that's never likely to happen, doesn't much matter.
EU3 is the game I have played the most (hours wise) without a doubt. So they can make games and decent ones at that otherwise I would have never invested so much time into one of their games before. Blanket statements like "Paradox suckssss" without any reasonable justification for your view is pretty immature and most of the replies are easily seen as trolling or baiting. If you want to be taken seriously, comment on why you don't feel they would able to contribute or list the flaws they might possess, or simply refrain from replying on the subject at hand.
