Default Very long game starting time ?

The game takes almost 3 minutes at the loading screen before it brings me to the starting menu.
Is there a way to speed things up, e.g. remove the intro ?

well, i have very long loading times too, but the intro is easy to skip. just press esc, and it goes to the main menu (possibly you need to press esc a couple of times). that really makes it shorter.

Yes, the game takes a very long time to load when you launch it. There's a lot of data for it to process, and even on a super high-end computer it will take over a minute for the initial load, and a similar amount of time when loading large battles. On more normal PCs it will take longer. The only practical thing you can do is optimise the data access by defragmenting the hard drive you installed the game on. Upgrading to a faster processor, more and faster RAM, and a faster hard disc will make some difference but the reduction in load time will not be worth the cost.

I use the time to make a cup of tea. Same with load times for large battles.

An hour I guess I am lucky as mine only takes a min or two but it is a large game so I guess it comes as an extra.

Still its nice to know I am not the only one who has a long load time.

It took a long time when I first launched it, like 5 minutes? Ever since then, it doesn't take more than 30 seconds to go from splash screen to intros.

Having a magazine or a book next to you also helps to make the long loading times bearable.

It's a good thing there's no food near my pc or I would get fat really fast because of long loading times...

I've actually read quite a few good books that way. But if I really wanted to read, I wouldn't have tunred on my PC.
