Thread: unit guide

    Default unit guide

this is not really a personal question about the problems I have with my game, but with Vanilla there seems to be loads of strategy and unit guides (e.g: http://www.g-unleashed.com/index.php?jump=352 ) around and I'm seeing a distinct lack of them with EB or with any total conversion. I can only speak for myself, but I personally think those kind of things are really good.

If there is one, then can someone please direct me to it. (As you might have gathered) I'm new to EB and would like some easy-to-read advice. If there isn't one, then I'm begging for one f my merrciful readers to make one.

so, you want unit guide to EB?
you may try to read some of those thread at this: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forum...opa-Barbarorum
but I know, they aren't easy to read.

first, you should try to play EB without much guides at first, play some custom battles via MP shortcut before playing full blown campaign, make yourself comfortable with EB battle rate that was slower and less lethal compared to vanilla.

second, because EB using ancient languages, you may want to write down some of their names at first, this maybe the hardest part for anyone without knack of talent of language departments, but believe me, this is easy concept

third, try to read some of this:
    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...actical-Advice
BUT, after you at least have some ideas how the units are named there

    good luck

and try to burn those Pesky Greek States down, raise the Roman Eagle

Nerd or nerdy, not fussed. The thing about Custom battles is, I pick rome, and there are all different types of auxiaries I can pick. I can't pick a single Roman unit!!! Another thing; I installed 1.2 but it says it's 1.1. I never had a problem installing it, so I can't see why.

The srtange units in the custom battle unit selection screen are a result of the large number of regional units included in EB. Check out the EB FAQ: it explains how to get the proper unit selection. As for the version number: the screen should say 1.2, so I guess you accidentally installed the patch in the wrong folder. Try searching the EB tech help forum: I am pretty sure this problem has come up before.
