It is really cute, pink and cuddly. Why do you dislike ponies?



On a serious note, there are quite a number of eyesore things, but I believe there are restrictions already that you cannot put .gif's in the signature place, only in the "broadband signature" one which is turned off by default. There is also file-size limit, etc.

Rules on signatures:

Signatures: There is a strict limit on the overall size of signatures as we have a signature box. As a result, only the first 500*200 pixels of your signature (images and text) will be show. The rest will be not be shown. The box provides room for one or more pictures of 500*150 pixels (the maximum size), with 2 lines of text (above, below or split) or 11 lines (700 characters) of text, as well as various combinations of the two, e.g. 5 lines of text, and a couple of smaller pictures.

As mentioned above, pictures can be added to your signature, which will be displayed with your posts (unless you chose otherwise), to your profile, and within the body of your posts. You can do this by using the IMG vB code tags (see vB section).

There are separate guidelines for the usage of signature pictures.

The rules for signature pictures are:
10,240 bytes max.
no sound.
max 500 pixels wide, max 150 pixels high.

These restrictions are in addition to the general forum rules, so any inappropriate pictures are also prohibited. The Staff ask that Members adhere to these limits, as it makes the Org a better place for people on slower connections.

There are no specific rules for either profile pictures or the occasional image in a thread, although commonsense should be applied. Posting of very large images, both in terms of dimensions and file size, is not considered respectful behaviour.

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 650 by 150 pixels or 50.0 KB (whichever is smaller). You can upload or link to an image of your own choice. You can also visit our gallery and download a picture to use it. Go to Settings/My Account/General Settings/ and scroll down to the Thread Display Options. There you can chooose whether you want to see avatars, profilepictures or both in userposts.

Those image rules for file size you quoted are VERY draconian. Your sig is over 200k. Mine is slightly less than 40k, and that's without making it look like crap due to heavy compression.
Regardless, there should be a special rule for Bronies and Fillies to allow a higher file size than heathens.
