    Default Tactics for Ireland Campaigns?

Ok. I've played through as Ireland on the short Campaign and am coming to the end of my Long Campaign, I wondered what tactics and conquest paths do people take?

After I liberated The Ireland its self I went through Scotland up to the Norwegiann border and left them alone. I went to Norwich, Launceston and nabbed what I could on the south before the welsh . The barons alliance turned up in the North of England but I had Lancaster, once I finished England the Alliance took on their role and I had to defeat them too ! Stayed neutral to Wales and Norway the whole way but now at war with Wales, recently took Chester, Winchester, Gloucester and now looking to get Oxford and Shewsbury. In the North Norway attacked while my back was turned, but I fought them back and seized Inverness and Inverlochly. So thats where I stand now.

What did you guys do and what suggestions do you have?

    Ah, Ireland. Been a while.

First step is always uniting Ireland. Take the Isle of Islay as well if possible. Now, Wales and England are usually still at it, so eliminating Scotland and Norway is a good thing, and make sure no-one lands on your Ireland.

England and Wales can be steamrolled easily now. Ireland is one of the easiest campaigns, along with Wales and England.

Hmm good advice I think; Isle of Islay usually comes up as a mission objective so It's not exactly an after thought, I never used it as my main launch point for my invasion of Scotland, I went from Trim and Down-Patrick to Dumfries and Arran, then North East from there :P. I fininshed the campaign today, but I pursued Wales down to 1 region, likewise to Norway, but now the "Great Mortality" has arrived and is hindering my finishing move. :(

    1. Unite ireland
    2. Build a good fleet and develop your economy (Ports, roads, markets, farms) For your castles always get the cav buildings and the armourers if you lead battles.
    3. Make several invasion stacks. Sail around and get Gloucester, London and Nottingham. With these three you've crippled England completely, even if you just sit and defend. Taking Caernavernon after Wales has depleted it's free reinforcing troops vs. England means they will hardly have quality units to pit against you.

Scotland and Norawy will duke it out most probably (having a good fleet will discourage any Norse desires to raid across the emerald isle). Once Norawy's reinforcements run out, just go in and smash both of them.

Interesting ordering. I find that Scotland are so focused on Norway that they're noot watching their back (arran, glasgow etc.) so I find it easier to o there first and build my economy up then . It's then that that I go after England, I agree that Oxford, Nottingham and London particularly are the heart of England; not so sure about Gloucester, I tend to find that Wales has taken Gloucester by the time I get there.... Finishing Norway tends to be a sinch by the time England (and wales) are gone.
