    Default Problems with BI.exe/Advice for helping the AS?

    I have a few new problems since I started playing with BI.exe and wanted to see if anyone has experienced these issues and found solutions.

    1) The gauls start to seriously spam Gaesatae, and I mean spam. Like, 8-9 units in not even a full stack. Makes my life as the Romani with historical army compositions really hard. Anyone else having the problem that the AI spams elites even more with BI?
    Mauled one of my early consular armies pretty bad and I had to walk the other one up all the way from Sicily, had to pay the Carthies for a ceasefire while I was occupied with the Aedui. Was great fun though

    2) The AS crumbles even faster than usual. I gave them money, on a very regular basis, in the end I'm, sure I pumped about 2-3 Million into their altogether but to no avail, they were just torn apart by the Ptollies and Parni. Does anyone have advice how to help the Arche stay in a better shape?

    gauls spam gaesatae? that's good they hardly trained them otherwise.

    well, if you play historical compositions, try to put princepes in the front instead of hastati, and make sure you are on the agressive side by doing clever flanking movements and defeat them from a wing (concentrate to break their left/right wing first), plus, hire two lance armed cavalry units (curepos will work, but any hellenistic lancers is better), you know, naked butt and lance in the back mix very well

    Yea , in the end I was able to deal with it and, as I said, it was fun. I like to be defeated every once in a while, it just surprised me. So my first question was more an inquiry if someone else noticed the AI recruiting better quality armies with BI.exe

    My other question is what I'm really looking for. Lazy O as I said I already gave them huge amounts of money but they still weren't able to hold their attackers at bay. It's really annoying, because when I get to the point where I expad in the area I'd really like to fight the Arche but now I'm stuck with fighting Ptollies from Pergamon to Alexandria and everywhere in between.

    in that matter, you should try giving them free units

    the problem is, if you spawn 6 units at once, when it failed to spawn (the city hit 20 unit limit), it won't be spawned at all, it's far safer to spawn unit one by one unless you are certain it's on your own territory (or have scout it with spies before)

    Just use 'toggle_fow'! You don't need a spy to see how large the garrison of a city is.
