Faction choice order is also determined by random lot but trades can be done. Players can tell others what their VC is, or they can lie about it, and the others will probably speculate anyway. Whomever gets to his victory conditoin wins. These can be very varied, to encourage different goals and play-styles for the different players and their faction. Such as:

Get to 50,000 killed enemies (exterminated cities and killed enemies) - reported via screenshots to the admin.
Get to 25,000 gold per turn profit.
Get to 50 levels of your buildings (highest for each settlement) combined - such as, if town A has a level 3 council chambers and that's the highest one, you write it down. If it has that and a level 4 port, you write the port down. Combine the highest level building for each settlement and when you reach 50 you win.
Get 2 10 star generals and 1 10 star assassin.
Get 5000 gold/turn in trade from merchants and a Merchant's Guild (any level)
Hold any two of the major cities on the map (Jerusalem, Constantinople, Rome, Venice, Paris, London, Cordoba) at once for 5 turns and get them to at lest 50% of your faith.

And so on and so forth... This idea can be refined and the numbers tweaked (I'm still brainstorming, I haven't thought them out balance-wise). The idea is that no one knows what the other guys need to do to win, however they must play differently and in accordance to their personal victory condition.
This sounds like it could be a good way to do Glorious Achievements 2. Maybe we should try it next time we want to start a big grand campaign hotseat, or on a smaller scale in one of the Kingdoms campaigns or even the Custom Campaign Mod, which someone at TWC has been working on optimizing for hotseat play.

I wanted to revive this thread to say to Cecil that I'd be up for trying the Diplomacy game in the Battleaxe mod when I'm knocked out of the current crop of Kingdoms games...shouldn't be too long in any of them! Anyone else still interested and Cecil will you be the admin?
