I think you can manually check for updates, even at that.

find view update status or something like that. You may end up going to the game's page on steam.

Could you give me a step by step guide on how to manually check for updates? I tried for about an hour yesterday and never even got close to downloading anything. After my friend tried to talk me through it, I think my install of Steam was bugged, so I reinstalled that... no improvement.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I don’t have the game installed at the moment and can’t take a couple of hours to do so.

If you reinstalled all updates should have gone with it.

Honestly, I didn’t know there was a 1.6.

Are you sure your friend doesn’t have some mod running?

It makes no sense... Usually you can't stop them loading.

Nope... normally you can't. I always wanted to.. then I got used to it and now it wont work.

All I can think of is to contact Steam.

It is not the best way to go but at this point your only way.
