Ahhh. I was unsure if the 128 block limit applied vertically. Thanks for the heads up.Be aware that mobs will not spawn more than 128 blocks from you, in all directions. As such, it would be a waste of time to build the structure higher than 128 blocks from wherever the player will stand when using the system.
