Does anyone know what happened to the villagers in my village? They are all gone. I took pretty good measures to mob proof the area, but they are all gone.

What is the best way to re-populate? Get them from another village with mob catcher?
When I asked to use your village a week or two ago it was totally empty, but I thought you already knew that.

I haven't been in there in a while, but have been working in the area, so it is entirely possible I wasn't as thorough as I thought I was and some zombies spawned in there.

Bear in mind that zombie sieges can occur despite your best efforts. On multiple occasions I had half a dozen zombies spawn in front of my eyes in the old server, in the middle of my brightly lit main street. I think the probability of one occurring is proportional to the number of villagers, but despite that I found the best solution was to up the size of the village by placing a ton of doors (I put them underground, with a pane of glass to provide the required opening to the sky, to reduce the visual impact). If you have enough villagers then it's highly unlikely the zombies will kill them all, and the survivors will re-breed quickly enough. Just make sure you have enough iron golems around to kill the baby zombies and zombies with helmets come morning.

    Our world is developing rapidly.

Many of us have begun to build their homes and this week our first communal project, the Hippodrome has started. There is really a lot changing now.

As it happens, I went around the map on the last weekend and took some pictures of several buildings as they were at that time. I will post these "historical records" here and if you like the idea, I can do it again from time to time. It could be interesting to see how things develop and also to look back on our world in the future and remember how we started it all.

First of all, here is the central spawn - just before the Hippodrome was started.
Only a few buildinngs: the West tower of Talqun Hadasht Ba'al Gate, Ivan's old and abandoned tower, the first skeleton spawner and of course the first Noob Hotel.

A few pictures of the ScienterCow Lair with the Rainbow Gate and the big glass dome.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The fist sightings of the Telcontar's Colony Ship descending on our world. Who knows where it will be in a few months time.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

BSmith's Castle was one of the first big castles that were build.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Sigurd's Domain in its early stages. There is a lovely medieval viallage in the making.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Ivan's City in the very early stages. This area has already changed a lot and a pretty castle is appearing.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The Talqun Hadasht at night. With a lot of other buildings visible. The lighthouse is already very impressive.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Note also, that the island West of the lighthouse is still untouched. By now, Dash has started building his house there.

newO 's Mesa Home is build in his typical style. And he has expanded to the next hill with a stone bridge and a newly founded village.

Here a picture of Blood Hill with the towerr build by Gondor-is-lost.

There are also many interesting islands:
    Diain's Lighthhouse
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    therother's glass island - about 50% glassified
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Aridhol's Tower - the water art is well worth a visit.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I also have a picture of Kakarot's House
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And finally my own humble abode: my Savanna Home
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Certiainly I have missed many interesting places - also I have nothing from the Nether or the End, where a lot has aleady been build (Sigurd's Enderfarm, just to mention one). If anyone feels I have missed his place, just let me know and I will make sure I will add it next time.

    Hope you enjoy it.

Nice one Nigel! It's great to have somebody cataloging the world - I have a feeling that in a month or two I'll look back at your post and marvel at the changes.

My place isn't worth posting yet. It's a cluster****. That's one of the main reasons that puts me off Minecraft. So much to do, and I don't know where to begin. I guess I should probably plan things out in writing.
